''GOTO beef cattle'' bred in this remote island blessed with bountiful nature is characterized by a moderate amount of fat(so called exquisite marbled beef) as well as juiciness and sweetness. Particularly, the evaluation of it's fillet is so high along with that of the world famous KOBE beef fillet!! Surprisingly, the history of GOTO cow dates the YAYOI PERIOD(300 BC~250 AD). During the HEIAN PERIOD(794 AD~1192 AD?), GOTO cow of clever and gentle was utilized as important workforce of OX CART for the aristcracy in the capital of KYOTO at that time. Considering of the geographical location of this remote island, this episode shows the admirable excellence of GOTO cow as livestock of WAGYU.???? And now, this gentle and docile cattle are raised affectionately by GOTO's daily farmers like their family being fed with natural grass blown by the sea breeze. So, please enjoy the viewing of the footage of GOTO cow's lunch time!!(They are lovely and full of curiosity!!)

GOTO ISLANDS, or GOTO RETTOU in Japanese, literally means 5 major islands of archipelago, is made up of 140 islands including ５major ones represented by FUKUE-jima island which is the largest one among them. GOTO RETTOU, on the east China sea,100 km off the coast of NAGASAKI city(???? in western KYUSYU,abounds in many, many scenic and historic sites. In terms of scenic beauty,GOTO RETTOU is designated as SAIKAI National Park noted for its magnificent archipelago seascape????????????. Additionally,in terms of historic sites, some places are designated as JAPAN HERITAGE(governmental designation),and others are registered on the tentative list of UNESCO's World Cultural Heritage!!
Accordingly, I think few places in Japan can rival this archipelago's wealth of historic and scenic sites.
