This is a day-time video of the Hachioji Festival 2019. View the night of the Hachioji Festival 2019 here: ~The Hachioji Festival is held for three consecutive days (and nights) in the first weekend of August near the JR Hachioji train station. About 800,000 visitors attend this festival each year! Hachioji Festival 2019 is happening 12 noon to 9 pm daily from Friday August 2 to Sunday August 4th. Japan have the coolest fireworks and the most beautiful fireworks in the world.
In every area of the country, fireworks competitions are held throughout the summer months and are well worth seeing.
Hachioji was held at Daiwa House Stadium Hachioji (Fuji Forest Park baseball field)
Lauch time: 19:00 - 20:00

August 4, 5 and 6 saw the Hachioji's Summer Festival. I have tried to condense 3 days into a 10 minute video. It was a wonderful time with lots of sights, games and food.
Traditional Japanese Fireworks at Annual Hachioji Fireworks Festival
“A Short Movie of Hachioji Fireworks Festival in 2015”
There are some specific characteristics for traditional Japanese fireworks. Actually traditional Japanese fireworks were improved to be a shape of a big cannon ball. After it went off to the sky it would burst into globe shapes and show 3-D vision of spheres to the spectators. Thus in Japan fireworks is often compared to large flowered chrysanthemums because some of Japanese large chrysanthemums have almost globular shapes. In fact the word “fireworks” is “Hanabi” in Japanese and it means “Fire flower”.
In addition, those Japanese fireworks spheres can have layers depending on the size and it can sparkle with different colors or with delay as you can see in this video.

Hachioji is the biggest city of Tokyo by area and it's located far to the west from the business center. But it's quite populated and many people go to Shinjuku in overcrowded trains every morning. The city is quite rural regardless of its size. Mt. Takao - one of most popular mountains of Tokyo is located here.
