The East Broad Top - Always Spectacular
The East Broad Top may be closed for the 2012 season, but she lives on in the memories and pictures of thousands of rail enthusiasts around the world. Last October's Fall Spectacular showcased 2-8-2 #`15 pulling a consist of original freight cars through the gently rolling Central Pennsylvania farmland. Passenger equipment was also on the move with a lunchtime trip to Colgate Grove, repeating a classic journey that had run for fifty-one years.
The East Broad Top is the best preserved original steam railroad in the Eastern United States and a true national treasure. Hopefully Old Eastie will be more than just a memory or a video on the Internet for future riders and the tradition of the Fall Spectacular will return in 2013.

Driving from Hagerstown to Smithsburg, Maryland
Despite its semi-rural Western Maryland setting, Hagerstown is a center of transit and commerce. Interstates 81 and 70, CSX, Norfolk Southern, and the Winchester and Western railroads, and Hagerstown Regional Airport form an extensive transportation network for the city. Hagerstown is also the chief commercial and industrial hub for a greater Tri-State Area that includes much of Western Maryland as well as significant portions of South Central Pennsylvania and the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. Hagerstown has often been referred to as, and is nicknamed, the Hub City. A person born in Hagerstown is officially called a Hagerstonian.

Please pardon our absence. Hagerstown people are no longer safe. We are here to expose you. Well, not really. I've found out that the truth usually causes more drama than lying. But why lie? The truth soothes the soul, for most. On a serious note. It's a shame when local media companies interview you, tell you your services aren't needed, and then go and copy the same thing you presented them months earlier. I'm no journalist, and I'm no media professional......but my gift is greater than that paper you hold so dearly. Salutations my local peers and especially business owners. I wish you luck.
Flyertown Train Museum
Compilation footage of a trip to Flyertown Train Museum ( in Clermont NJ with my Uncle Bob during our annual family vacation to New Jersey. Music is the end of a song I recorded in Milwaukee in 2009 that I only used because it was the right length, but works in a strange way. The last minute or so just has sounds from the museum.
Maryland & Pennsylvania Railroad Trains & Town w/ Abandoned HOUSE &School built in 1800
The town I show at the beginning was mostly built in the 1880s-1890s for the Maryland & Pennsylvania Railroad. The buildings are now part of a museum and in the summer you can even ride a portion of the old rails. Which is pretty neat!
The rest of stuff in the video was built in the 1800s, consisting of a school and old slate roofed house.

A Couple Hours in Union with the PRR, OFOX, BNSF, SAAHC, and More
I heard that NS 18N was in Allentown PA with NS 8102, the Pennsylvania heritage unit, leading. I then decided to head up to Union, since it would give me more time to prepare for the shot than Piscataway. During my four hour stay, I saw eleven trains, which is excellent for the Lehigh Line on Mondays, so I've been told. With the PRR under my belt, I am now halfway through the NS heritage fleet.
