I have travelled to many countries in the past, but this was the second travel/vlog video I've ever done. With the Hyperlapse app, I was able to do a time-lapse of the subway, train, airplane, and us walking down to many renowned attractions of Hagi. Japan Trip: Hagi in Japan's History--Kido Takayoshi Residence, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Hagi Town
Hagi Town in Yamaguchi Prefecture is rich with art and culture. From its Hagiyaki Pottery, highly praised by the tea ceremony community, to former samurai mansions, visitors can feel Japan’s past in this small quiet town.
Visitors interested in Hagi and Japan’s history are advised to visit the birth house of Kido Takayoshi. Takayoshi is an important Japanese statesman who helped overthrow the Tokugawa family’s 264 year regime to restore the power back to the emperor. Once the new government was formed, Takayoshi became one of the most effective officials in the new government.
His birth home in the Horiuchi quarters in Hagi is a simple, traditional Japanese home. The 250 year old home has many small tatami rooms. There is a small garden as well where a pine tree (over 300 years old) stands.

Admission: 100 yen (Kido Residence only)

Japan Trip Traditional Arts, Hagiyaki Pottery at the Yoshika Taibi Memorial Museum in Hagi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan
[014] Yamaguchi Hagi Yoshika Taibi Memorial Museum
Hagiyaki Pottery (萩焼) is among best pottery throughout Japan. In the early 1600s, this skill was brought to Japan from Korea. Hagiyaki Pottery was highly regarded for tea wares and was particularly popular in the Edo Period (1603 to 1867).
Often used in tea ceremony, the tea residuals cause the Hagiyaki Pottery to change colors. Tea enthusiasts were delighted of this changing color aspect. Even now Hagiyaki is higly regarded. Many stores in Hagi sell Hagiyaki tea wares, cups and bowls.
Located in the outskirts of the city, the Yoshika Taibi Memorial Museum features a large collection of valuable Hagiyaki Pottery. In addition, ceramic pieces and paintings done by the museum’s namesake artist/potter are displayed. Visitors have a chance to observe the Hagiyaki process in the workshop in front of the museum. Also, there is a store in front of the visitors where Hagiyaki wares are sold.

【4K Town Walking Japan #10】YAMAGUCHI Rurikoji Temple 城镇漫步 山口 瑠璃光寺
Walk from JR Yamaguchi Station to Rurikoji Temple, famous for the National Treasure Five-storied Pagoda. On the way, stop by some famous places such as Ichinosaka-riv, Jippotei and Ryufukuji.

从JR山口站步行到以国宝五层宝塔而闻名的瑠璃光寺。途中在一坂川,十朋亭,龙福寺等著名景点停留。
ＪＲ山口駅から、国宝五重塔で有名な瑠璃光寺まで、歩きます。途中、一の坂川や十朋亭、龍福寺など、いくつかの名所にも立ち寄ります。
Japanese Castle - Takatori
Takatori castle ruins, has the prestigious title of one of three highest mountain castles in Japan. The original castle was built in 1332 by Ochi Kunizumi and underwent several rebuilds and owners including Honda Tarozaemon from 1584 - 1640, before finally resting with the Uemura clan until the meiji restoration when the castle was finally pulled down. The grounds of the castle are enormous, including 27 yagura and seven wells, I only managed to see two of these. While none of the original buildings remain, a considerable amount of stonework does. Jcastles site has further information about the castle and a link to Nara Sangyo University that have developed a graphical reconstruction of the castle.

I was on a bike while filming this so sorry for the bumpy film..
'In 1608, Mori clan built Hagi Castle at the foot of Mt.Shizuki. Hagi castle had been the political center of Choshu-han(currently Yamaguchi prefecture) for about 250 years. Now stone walls, moats and gardens are kept as the ruins. '

Japan Trip Historic Obaku Sect Temple, Tokoji Temple, Hagi, Yamaguchi11 Moopon
Tokoji Temple (東光寺) is located in Hagi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture. Visitors can find its magnificent wooden temple buildings within the forest located east of downtown Hagi. It was founded in 1691and belongs to the Obaku school of Japanese Zen Buddhism.
Most temples of the Obaku sect display an architectural style that has more Chinese features than that of the average Japanese temple. Tokoji Temple is no different. Visitors will notice this right away upon entering the temple through its Chinese style, red entrance gate. Visitors will pass under an even larger wooden gate, the Sanmon Gate, and an old bell tower on their way to the main hall. Further evidence of Chinese Zen architecture style is evident in the Tokoji’s main hall which houses a statue of the historic Buddha (Shaka Nyorai).
An impressive graveyard can be seen behind the temple buildings. Here lies the graveyard of half of the Mori daimyo (feudal lords). The Mori daimyo governed Hagi during the Edo Period (1603-1868). The odd numbered successors of the Mori lords were buried here at Tokoji Temple and the first and even numbered lords were buried at Daishoin Temple. With Tokoji Temple being located in the woods, the atmosphere is quite tranquil and serene.
Access Information:
Tokoji Temple is located about two kilometers southeast of Higashi-Hagi Station.
**By bicycle: about 10-15 minutes (slightly uphill)
**On foot: about 30 minutes.
**By Bus: from Higashi-Hagi and Hagi Stations please take Maru Bus East Loop
Hours: 8:30 to 17:00
Closed: Opened all year round
Admission: 300 yen

In a few hours, the winds of typhoon Hagibis are going to hit Tokyo in full force. Right now, as we upload this, the winds are already loud. We’re not sure how serious it’s going to be, but everyone we know is freaked out. Grocery stores have been cleaned out. Every shop is closed. Public transportation and airplanes are all stopped. We’re going to show you a bit of what the atmosphere here in Tokyo is like, we’ll show you a bit about how we’re prepping for the storm, and give you a couple of useful apps.

A sort of village fete in the center of Yamaguchi with various stalls and a koto / singing performance at the end. Skip to 7:20 for the koto/singing performance (or see recent video).
There were no non-Japanese were there, other than myself, a colleague and an exchange student at the same school as the performers.

Just my personnal footage of the typhoon Jebi in Osaka. I was very curious to feel the power of mother nature's typhoon and went outside to figure it out by myself.
The video starts just before the typhoon comes, continues in the middle of it and finish after it's gone.
Nothing really enjoyable or fascinating but i share a part of this event as a witness.
