Hai Van Pass o Paso de Hai Van significa “paso de nubes oceánicas”. El Hai Van Pass es un paso montañoso de unos 21km de largo en la Ruta Nacional 1A de Vietnam. Atraviesa un espolón de la Cordillera de Annamite en el Este del país. El nombre de Paso Hai Van viene de las brumas que se elevan desde el mar reduciendo la visibilidad.
Este camino, un poco tortuoso, ha sido siempre un desafío para conductores que viajan entre Hue y Da Nang. De hecho, hay muchas empresas que alquilan motos en ambas ciudades y llevando tu equipaje a la otra para facilitarte atravesar el paso. El Hai Van Pass es un debe si vas a recorrer Vietnam en moto.

Friday October 9th, 2015. We began the bike ride at 7:30am from Lang co to Hoi An for a total of 47 miles. The first 10 miles consisted of very challenging hills to the get to the top of Hai Van pass. From there, very scenic downhill, which this video captures most of it. The rest of the ride was flat. We were a little exhausted, especially since we decided to wait for lunch until we would arrive to Hoi An.

Travelling south through Vietnam, we stopped in the former royal city and today’s provincial capital of Hue.
On rented motorcycles, we jam-packed our days at the old Imperial City of Hue, the abandoned water part of Thuy Tien, the royal tomb of Thai Dinh King, and eating amazing street food.
One of the food vendors handed Linda a surprise that none of our party were adventurous enough to eat. Ha!
Next up we travel from Hue to Da Nang via motorbikes on the gorgeous Hai Van Pass. And stay tuned.

Con đèo dốc và gấp khúc liên tục, thách thức tay lái của người đi đường. Có thể nói đây là con đèo nhiều tầng nhất Việt Nam.
Tuy con đường được ít người lựa chọn đi nhưng nếu đủ kiên nhẫn chắc chắn các bạn sẽ được mãn nhãn đến khó quên.
Nằm trên tuyến huyết mạch nối các địa điểm du lịch nổi tiếng là Pác Bó Cao Bằng và Mèo Vạc Hà Giang, chắc chắn sau này mọi người sẽ biết đến Mẻ Pia nhiều hơn.

Our Vietnam trip in crazy three minutes
Пешком по легендарному Сайгону (Хошимин), на лодке по долине реки Меконг, на мотобайке по живописным холмам знаменитой трассы Hai Van Pass, на велосипеде по романтичному и застывшему в прошлом Хой Ану... К сожалению очень многое осталось за кадром трёхминутного видео, но мы постарались как могли передать то настроение и драйв, с которым мы весело и задорно прокатились по Вьетнаму в марте 2015!
Walking through the streets of legendary Saigon (Ho Chi Minh), by boat on Mekong river Delta, by motobike through picturesque hills of fable Hai Van Pass, by bicycle in romantic and lost in time Hoi An... Unfortunately a lot was left out of 3 min video, but we were trying to express those emotions and atmosphere that we felt during our trip in Vietnam in March 2015!

Ha Noi: 2 nights @ Hanoi Space Hotel and two more between our other stops
Ha Noi is really busy but it has the best streetfood from Vietnam. Enjoy some eggcoffee at the train street and get the best bun cha ever!
Sa Pa: 1 night @ My Boutique Hotel. Super friendly manager and such beautiful rooms with an amazing view and great food.
Organized and booked with Swallowtravel - big recommendation to them.

First day arrival we had a tour through CatCat village
2nd day: full day trip through Lao Chai, Hmong village with a small group of 5 people.
Ninh Binh & Tam Coc: 2 nights @ Golden Rice Tam Coc.
Such an amazing and peaceful place.
The owner of this hotel is so friendly and lovely. If you will stay there, ask her for an egg coffee! It tastes amazing!
We booked our trip for one day with „Tommy´s Travel Service Ninh Binh“
We can highly recommend him.
Our two local guys tooked care about us and showed us the best places. We loved that trip so much- it was an amazing time! Thank you so much guys!
Flight to Hue: 1 night @ Orchid Hotel. We loved that city ❤ Take a motorbike and drive to the tomb´s and the abandoned waterpark. Enjoy the streetfood at night, next to the hotel.
If you have more time to stay there, you should do it, because Hue has so much to explore- we surely come back one time.
The hotel organised a trip with a privat driver through the Hai Van Pass to our next stop Hoi An.
It was the fastest way for a good price- including sightseeing. You really should choose that way, it will be the best take a break at the lagune for a vietnamese coffee.
Hoi An: 5 nights @ Cashew tree bungalow. OMG it was so beautiful in our bungalow next to An Bang Beach.
The manager Mrs. Luyen was so sweet and helpful! She welcomed us so warmly. You can choose your breakfast every single day. She organised us a one day snorkeling trip to Cham Island. An island you must see! It is so quite and peaceful- maybe you got time to stay at the island for a night.
You can rent a bike or a motorbike from Luyen for a trip to the city.
Take a ride to vegetable & coconut village- just enjoy the vietnamese lifestyle!
You should also enjoy your time at An Bang beach, just a few meters you will find a nice place with less tourists.
Next to Luyen´s Bungalows there is a local markt where you can get some fresh and tasty fruits.
Thank you Luyen for those wonderful days, we already missing that time!
Flight to Phu Quoc: 5 nights @ Ancarine Beach Resort. Beautiful resort with an amazing beach. Just relax and enjoy the silence and the waves of the sea. Great breakfast next to the sea. You can order some tasty cocktails and enjoy it during the sundowner.
For dinner we went to No Name BBQ- they have a variety of everything you want! Next to it you can get tasty mangosteen, mangos, durian..
Great island to chill and enjoy the last days of that beautiful country.
Flight to HCMC: 2 nights @ Christina´s Saigon-Lofts by the park. We were warmly welcomed and our loft was perfect for our last days in this crazy town.
Saigon is also a busy city, but we really enjoyed the time there.
