My first night dive with a new DARKBUSTER 24W HID diving torch.
Torch has a spot reflector, so the hot spot is clearly visible in the frame, even with the light dispersing fiter on the lens. Need to replace the reflector to a video/flood type.
Hand feeding giant catfish while diving Haigh Quarry in Kankakee Illinois
Big catfish decided to hang with us while diving a rock quarry. He was rather aggressive and ended up with 10 hot dogs in his belly by the time we parted company.

In 1999, Places Rated Almanac ranked 354 metropolitan areas in the United States of America. Kankakee, IL was ranked last. I don't consider Kankakee or Kankakee County a metropolitan area. It's more of a collection of small towns. And as far as small towns go, it is and always has been...okay. It's become a local myth that Kankakee was voted worst place to live. This is false. There was no vote, and it was never ranked on a list of worst places to live. Kankakee was ranked last on a list of Best Places to Live. This almanac chose to rank only 354 locations out of the entire U.S. and Canada. There are thousands more towns and cities in the U.S. and Canada that were not even listed in the book. It's very sad that local news outlets choose to carelessly report a local myth rather than so much as Google search a news story about their own hometown.
