Hakone Tent Video Tour - Hakone, 4/29/17
On our second day in Japan, we visited the giant Buddha on our way to Hakone, a mountain town. Here we are staying in our first Air BnB, the Hakone Tent. I don't know why they choose 'tent' because we are def not in tents. This place is huge, there's a large common area downstairs where you can check in/out, order food and sit, or use the provided computer and guitars. There's also a separate kitchen area where you can make yourself tea or coffee and prepare foods you've brought yourself as well as 2 private onsen. The onsen are co-sex so Jeremy and I were able to go in together. :3
Daimyo Traditional Japanese Festival in Hakone 大名行列
Every year during `Culture Day` in Japan, the Daimyo Festival takes place in Hakone. A total of 170 people join the shooting ceremony which was introduced by the Odawara clan a long time ago. Besides of the shooting, a relaxed and intimate atmosphere is created during this festival.
毎年文化の日に開催される「箱根大名行列」は、総勢170人の大行列です。小田原藩の格式にならって行われているそうで、華やかな中にも、少し厳かな空気が漂います。

Kawagoe Day Trip from Tokyo // AWESOME Things to do in Japan!
Kawagoe (川越) is located about 30 minutes by train on Tobu Railway from central Tokyo and is a wonderful day trip destination!
Here is my exact Kawagoe Day Trip from Tokyo Itinerary:
Take the Tobu Express train from Ikebukuro Station(Tojo Line Express to Ogawamachi)
Kitain Temple
One of the most important temples in the Greater Tokyo area, Kitain Temple, is one of Kawagoe's main attractions! It is famous for its main hall, which was part of the original Edo Castle, and the statues of 540 Rakan, disciples of the Buddha. It is also known informally as the Kawagoe Daishi. I visited during the sakura season and enjoyed the spring decorations and cherry blossoms!
Lunch at Kappo Kawashima (Traditional Japanese Cuisine). The food is delicious and you dine in a private room! You can make a reservation here:
Hikawa Shrine
The Kawagoe Hikawa Shrine is said to be approximately 1500 years old and is where five deities are enshrined: Susanoo no Mikoto, Kushinadahime no Mikoto, Ashinazuchi no Mikoto, Tenazuchi no Mikoto, and Oonamuchi no Mikoto.
With two sets of deities that are regarded as married couples, the shrine has been historically worshiped for matrimonial happiness, happiness in the family and the deity of matchmaking.
Kashiya Yokocho Lane (Traditional Style Japanese Candy Lane)
Ichibangai Historical Shopping Street
Its main street, lined with Kurazukuri (clay-walled warehouse-styled) buildings, retains an ambiance reminiscent of an old town from the Edo Period (1603-1867). Visiting feels like stepping back in time to imagine the streets from past centuries. Because of this, Kawagoe became known as Little Edo.
Roman Sabo Umon Café (Japanese Tea & dessert). I always recommend trying the desserts that are in season and special to the time of year you are there.
Take Tobu Express train from Kawagoe Station (Tojo Line Express to Ikebukuro)
Tobu has an amazing discount pass that includes a roundtrip ticket and special discounts and freebies at various restaurants and retailers.
Where to purchase the pass:
Tobu Tourist Information Center IKEBUKURO
Tobu Tojo Line counter in Ikebukuro Station
TOBU TOP TOURS Ikebukuro Station branch

If you are traveling to Tokyo, I sincerely suggest you take a day trip to Kawagoe. If you visit during the fall or spring, you are super lucky!

【4K】Walking in Shinano town, Nagano. To lake Nojiri and above.
Not a vlog, no intrusive faces or talking, pure Japan only.
I was in Nagano Myokokogen for skiing and noticed a lake from the top. Next day I went there with my drone. The walk starts from Kurohime station. Had to find proper way to the lake as Google maps showed some roads which did not exist. The place is very rural.
When I put my bag into the locker I forgot to take a key :)
Before playing with drone I put camera a side to record some natural sounds why flying. After flying I got back to the station by taxi and then took a train. Few train station away I remembered that I forgot to take my camera. Had to go back, take a taxi and got in time for next train which goes once an hour. Station guy let me to use same ticket for Nagano city.

The Netsuke Made in Ise are Characterized by a Rare Kind of Wood which is known as “The Wooden Jewel.”
Boxwood is called Jewel wood because they grow slowly in the cold weather and poor mountain soil. It takes for about 50 to 60 years to have only 6cm in diameter.
Its texture is hard, flexible and can be bent to allow the delicate work without breaking.
While their materials vary from ivory, horn, wood, bamboo and so on, artisans use boxwood collected from Mt. Asama in Mie Pref., West Japan, for Ise netsuke.
