気多大社

御祭神：大己貴命（大国主大神）

奈良に都があった時代から北陸の大社として朝廷からの尊崇も厚く、文献に最初に登場するのは、大伴家持が能登を巡行したときに「之乎路（しをぢ）から直超え（ただこえ）来れば羽咋（はくい）の海 朝凪ぎ（あさなぎ）したり船楫（かぢ）もがも」と詠んだ歌が収められた「万葉集」というほどの格式をもつ「気多大社」。能登国となってからも歴代の領主からの手厚い保護により社領の寄進や社殿の造営された。

その中でも、加賀藩が保護した社叢には奥宮があり、普段は宮司以外は立ち入り禁止とされ、奥宮での神事がある際に神官が森の中に入るときには目かくしをして通行しなければらないといわれ、「入らずの森」として聖域となっている。

現在では、気多大社の名から「氣」が多く集まる神社と言われており、また、気多大社の御祭神である大己貴命(おおなむちのみこと)は出雲大社では大国主大神(オオクニヌシノオオカミ)といわれる縁結びの神であることから、縁結びスポットとしても有名となっており、全国から多くの人が訪れる。

奉納演奏した摂社太玉（ふとだま）神社は、参拝して願うと、願いは地球の気の穴を通じて願う所に届くと言われている。

Suigo Itako Iris Festival【Official Movie】

This historic flower festival has been held annually since 1952.
Approx. one million iris plants of 500 varieties are grown in the site,
and the best time to visit is around June 10. During the festival you
can enjoy many events seen only in Itako, for example, “The Marital Sending”that is an rowboat a real bride is boarding, and “Ayame Dance” which is an original dance show. Every year lots of local people and visitors from far come and enjoy the atmosphere of riverside area as well as the beautiful flowers.
