Prince Edward County 2011 Part 2
From September 16-18, 2011 The Castros and I went to Prince Edward County to stay at a cottage in Waupoos called Hart's Haven. We visited about six wineries and cider houses, went to the Milford Fair, Ontario's oldest fair, a German Dinner at the Rose House Museum and tried to do some fishing.

All in all, the Captain's House harkens back to another time when peace and tranquility were the rule. Not the exception.
*The Legend of The Captain's House. In 1874, there was a terrible storm on Lake Ontario that sank many boats and washed many things ashore. Soon after the storm subsided, two farmers who then owned the property were walking along their beachfront and saw what appeared to be a large wooden door with something lashed to it. That something proved to be a man, long drowned and unrecognizable, who was wearing a Captain's uniform the pockets of which were stuffed with gold coins. The farmers respectfully relieved the Captain of his burden and ceremoniously set him adrift once again thinking a burial at sea was the proper thing to do. And besides, why waste the money. So they used it to build two very fine houses. One of which is now called The Captain's House.
