The public gardens in Halifax is rated by trip advisor as the best thing to see and do in the city of Halifax.
This is a beautiful place with many types of flowers. It has several ponds as well. It is something you must see and do when visiting Halifax!
You can see many statues commemorating things such as the RCMP. There is also a large pavilion in the middle of the park where concerts are held.

Parks of Halifax - Public Gardens
Phantom 3 footage of Halifax Public gardens. The patterns can't really been seen from the ground so the true beauty of the park can only been seen from the air.
The Halifax Public Gardens are Victorian era public gardens formally established in 1867, the year of Canadian Confederation. In 1874, the city of Halifax assumed responsibility for the original garden (N.S. Horticultural Society, 1836) and a civic garden (1867); the gardens were brought together by the present design in 1875. Richard Power, the Garden’s superintendent from 1872–1915, oversaw the introduction of the bandstand, fountains, statues, and wrought iron gates – all features of the High Victorian Pleasure Garden. Each piece honoured a milestone in Queen Victoria’s reign, a contemporary military event, or an important local personage.

The Halifax Public Gardens are a charming Victorian time capsule in the middle of the city. Expect elegant wrought iron gates, fountains, ornate bridges, ponds and a bandstand. The gardens were established in the same year as Canadian Confederation (1867), and pay homage to the country’s heritage. Wander through the 16-acre (six-hectare) park to discover natural delights that change with the seasons.Navigate through the serpentine and scroll style garden beds and across stone bridges. Find historic statues and memorials dotted along the paths. The classically sculpted Victoria Jubilee fountain can be found near the center of the park. Visit the ducks and a model of the Titanic in Griffin’s Pond while enjoying a hand-paddled ice cream from the park café.The Public Gardens Park horticulturalists, superintendents and volunteers take great pride in their traditional Victorian-style carpet beds, precisely planted gardens that paint a picture or design. Two of these carpet beds are maintained for special events and commemorations.Visit the park on Canada Day (July first) and Natal Day (the first Monday in August), and to catch floral celebrations. A decoratively carved wooden bandstand resides in the middle of the park, surrounded by 32 annually blooming garden beds. Swing by the bandstand on any given Sunday in summer and you can see a free public concert. Diverse varieties of dahlia can be seen in full bloom during late summer until the first frost of the fall. The Halifax Public Gardens Park is open and free to enter during spring to late fall. The park is conveniently located just over half a mile (one kilometer) from downtown and the waterfront district. Catch a bus right to the Victorian-era gates on the corner of Spring Garden Road and South Park Street.

Halifax - Amazing Landmarks and Architecture | Halifax Travel Vlog
Halifax is the capital city of the Canadian province of Nova Scotia, and there are a lot of amazing landmarks and architecture to discover in downtown. Many historic sights to check out include (but not limited to) the Halifax Citadel, the famous Old Town Clock, St. Paul's Anglican Church, Halifax City Hall, and the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia. When admiring the historic architecture of the city, don't forget to check out the more modern architecture including the Halifax Central Library. While sightseeing in Halifax, visiting the Halifax Public Gardens and the Halifax Waterfront along the harbour is the perfect way to relax and unwind. To get that impressive view of the Halifax cityscape especially at sunset, make sure to take the ferry over to Dartmouth along the Dartmouth Harbourwalk.
