Shot in October as the autumn leaves were starting to change, we experienced two different trails and a whole lot of spectacular scenery. This is one of the best hikes in Korea, and one you should definitely do if you are travelling around Korea.

In today’s VLOG, travel to Mount Hallasan Volcano in the venter of Jeju island, and hike to the crater at the top. Mount Hallasan is the tallest mountain completely inside South Korea, and rises to 1950m. A nice day hike to the top and a chance to get some great views of the island. Hiking the HIGHEST MOUNTAIN in South Korea
Today we're hiking up Hallasan, South Korea's highest mountain! Hallasan is a shield volcano and is surrounded by a national park. As recommended by our taxi driver, we take the Yeongsil Course up and Eorimok Course back down. For those wanting to reach the peak, arrive before 8am so you have time to get back down before sunset (also advised by the taxi driver). Just sharing tips from a local :)

The dormant shield volcano serves an important role in balancing the surrounding ecosystem and provides ample opportunities for hiking and exploring. But for many South Koreans, the mountain is more than a topographical feature; it’s a spiritual presence akin to Mother Nature herself. Seung-Min Kim, a mountain search and rescue agent, has climbed the 6,400-foot peak more than 1,000 times. He intimately understands the mountain’s majesty and spiritual nature, as well as her perils.

Jeju Island's Mount Hallasan in South Korea is on a must-hike to do list when visiting Jeju Island. Word of advice, make sure you guys leave early, there's an initial checkpoint regardless of which trail you take that must be reached by 13:00 (1:00pm), otherwise the park rangers will turn you away.
Normally there's supposedly an awesome crater at the very top of the summit, but it was so damn foggy that we couldn't see it at all :(

MOUNT HALLASAN TREKKING DAY TOUR ITINERARY
(SEONGPANAK TRAIL – GWANEUMSA TRAIL)
Pick up from hotel in Jeju City.
Transfer to Seongpanak Trail Ticket Office entrance.
Hike Seongpanak Trail until summit at Baengnokdam Crater (9.6KM – 4 1/2 hrs).
Take a break at:
- Sokbat Emergency Shelter
- Jindallaebat Emergency Shelter (Close at 12:30pm)
From Baengnokdam Crater, hike down via Gwaneum-sa Trail (8.7KM - 5 hours)
Take a break at:
- Samgakbong Emergency Shelter (Have lunch there)
- Tamna Valley Emergency Shelter
Continue hike until Gwaneum-sa Trail Ticket Office
Transfer back to hotel in Jeju City.

Amanda and I were very excited to hike up Hallasan Jeju, South Korea. The mountain is almost 2000 meters tall and is actually a VOLCANO!!!! that last erupted in 1000 A.D. Come take a look at the amazing scenery, it was spectacular hiking during the summer!

Aside from the UNESCO World Heritage of Seongsan Ilchulbong, Jeju also offer the taste of its traditional home at Jeju Folk Village Museum. There, you'll find the iconic Jeju Black Pig! Super cute! And hairy too! (hehe). Watch how Sis Lola tried to steal the oranges from the tree. And how jealous she is when the korean women feed her husband a candy. It's hilarious! The journey continue to Mount Hallasan. We got chance to play with the snow at the bottom of Mount Hallasan. Unforgetable moment. Our day couldn't get any better when we had halal Indian food. Yes! There's halal restaurant here in Jeju! Hope you guys like it!

I went onto a solo hiking trip to Hallasan in Jeju! I have always wanted to hike Hallasan ever since my last visit to Jeju few years ago and I am really happy that I did it this time! It was quite foggy up there so I couldn't really enjoy the view but I did enjoy the hike itself, although my legs hurt really bad during the descent T.T
