Back to Victoria
After we finished our ride around the Outback it was a time to ride back to Victoria, but before that we visited the famous Halls Gap. Another wonderful day on my Australian motorcycle trip.

Hiking the Grampians Peaks Trail – Halls Gap Section
The Grampians Peaks Trail is one of Victoria’s proposed icon long distance hiking trails. The first section is now complete - a 38 km, 3 day/2 night circuit departing from Halls Gap. Margie and I did the hike in Oct 2017 and thoroughly enjoyed it. We are looking forward to doing the next section.
10 Grampians Road, Halls Gap - Monaghan’s Real Estate
Conventional thinking puts the house at the front of the block and the shed at the rear but when your block backs onto the beautiful Grampians National Park the smart way is to put your home next to the park and the big shed on the road.
Just finished, this tradesman builders own home is in an enviable Halls Gap location perfect for permanent or holiday living.
Designed for minimal maintenance and maximum enjoyment the floorplan boasts a stunning air conditioned open lounge, kitchen and dining space with direct access to a brilliant deck looking straight into the National Park. A generous air conditioned main bedroom with built-in robe, and tiled ensuite, bedrooms two and three both doubles with built-in robes, stunning family bathroom and a fully equipped all electric kitchen.
Then the lock up shed, what a beauty. Twelve metres by seven, set up on a slab with power, toilet, bathroom and a combustion heater. Finish off with a carport and a store shed and you have the perfect package.
Victoria's Secret: Hiking the Grampians - Black Pepper Abroad Ep. 016
While visiting the Grampians, Brad tries his hand at making the iconic Australian dish known as damper bread. Its a pretty basic recipe cooked on the coals of the fire or in a camp oven. It was a great little treat to take up on the trails with us.
We also spent some time visiting 2 popular tracks. Starting with Boronia Peaks in Halls Gap and then moving north to check out Beehive Falls and Briggs Bluff. Just two of the many tracks within the park. The views were something else.

FIRESTORM Skip Film Productions
In light of the current bush fire crisis and to highlight the work of the Rural Fire Service I produced a documentary called A.C.T. FIRESTORM
. The documentary tells the story of the fire-fighters involved in the 2003 ACT bush fire disaster that destroyed over 500 homes and resulted in the loss of four lives.
The film's producer and director, Noel Sadler, is a member of the Rural Fire Service and has been on duty fighting fires in the Blue Mountains recently, he was also on duty during the 2003 ACT bush fires, and was last year invited back to record interviews with some of the other fire-fighters who served during that disaster.
Mr Sadler said: As with the ACT firestorm in 2003, the current fires in the Blue Mountains had been building up to potentially have the same super-fire effect with the same destructive result. Films like A.C.T. FIRESTORM help to inform the public of the full dangers and the damage that such fires can create.

Ellen & Oprah Take Over a Grocery Store Part 1
Ellen and Oprah stopped by a local grocery store to check out Oprah's new food line, O, That's Good!, and even made lunch for one unsuspecting fan.
Best Caravan Park on NSW Coastline Bonny Hills
Definitely in my TOP 5 Campsites on my 6 month Harley Davidson ride around Australia. Super friendly staff even let me weather the storm out in the camp kitchen after my tent got blown over during the night. Clean modern facilities and right on the beach front so you can hear the waves crashing. Short walk down to the beach and general store directly opposite. Best level grassy sites. But suggest phone ahead for bookings. Cheers Chapee

GRAMPIANS PEAKS TRAIL
Ollie and I walked the Grampians Peaks Trail over Melbourne Cup Weekend 2017. The first night was spent at Bugiga Hikers Camp. The second night was 1.5km from Borough Huts Campground which was booked out. We found a spot off the track near Sawpit Creek. No water in the creek where the track crosses but we found flowing water a short distance upstream. All in all some great Australian hiking trails, can't wait for them to open up the rest of the tracks and turn it into a 13 day thru hike

Grampians Blue Ribbon Ride to Remember, 2014
Update: Unfortunately I cooked the NX while doing this ride, some blockage stopped oil getting down into the motor.
Planning a travel program whereby I ride a 20 year old NX650 8000 km's around Western Australia.
On the weekend I did the Grampians Blue Ribbon Ride to Remember and tested. The 200km circuit took in the rural countryside of the Ararat Rural City municipality and to the fringes of the magnificent Grampians National Park including the townships of Moyston, Pomonal and Halls Gap. The Ride then travels into the Grampians National Park via the spectacular Victoria Velley, to Dunkeld and back via Glenthompson, Willaura, Maroona and back to Ararat.
More information on the annual ride -
In this video I wanted to test the gopro performance dealing with different video speeds in post. Footage was shot at 720p 100fps and footage was speed up and slowed down for effect.
