HAMAT GADER HOT SPRING IN ISRAEL,
The bathing site at Hamat Gader Springs was found 1800 years ago by the Roman Empire that rules Israel during those times. The Romans discovered the water springing from the heart of the earth, and immediately realized that this is a place everyone will enjoy visiting.
Since then and up to our times, Hamat Gader's thermo-mineral springs attract tourists and visitors from all over the world. Thanks to their many medicinal qualities, the water temperature is a constant 420C throughout the year, and bathing in them is soothing and relaxing.
Among the health benefits that can be enjoyed from bathing in this water are release of joint pains and pains in general, rejuvenation of skin cells, speeding the metabolism, expansion of the blood vessels that contributes to reduction of blood pressure and increase of the pulse, etc.
Hamat Gader - An extraordinary experience
The life story of the Hamat Gader recreation and spa, which is celebrating four decades. * 16 million visitors * Israel's leading and exclusive resort, a warm welcome all year long
Hamat Gader is considered a leading vacation, recreation and attractions park, among the top three in the country, an unparalleled resort in Israel. The site offers a variety of recreation options for every person of any age throughout the year. Over 16 million visitors have visited the site over the past four decades.
The site contains 4 water springs at different temperatures (cold / sweet, 52 degrees Celsius, 42 degrees Celsius and 39 degrees Celsius). The thermo-mineral water is rich in sulfur and other elements that are helpful in relieving joint pain, muscle relaxation, blood flow, anti-aging, etc.
In the past three years, the site has been undergoing a facelift, and there has been a marked improvement in the number of visitors arriving at the site. The summer, which once was a poor season for visitors, starts gaining momentum by combining wet attractions and nighttime activities alongside the many attractions available in the park.
The visitors are prominent during the winter season, which is the peak season of the site, when the oppressive heat changes into cool, brisk air, occasional rain and in combination with the hot springs, the visitors enjoy an addictive and pleasant experience.
Over the years, massive investments have been made to improve the site. Among other things, a boutique hotel, Spa Village, has been established, couple suites in the winter months and family suites in summer months, each with a thermo-mineral Jacuzzi. The hotel is surrounded by lawns and private baths for its guests and is separated from the public site. Restaurants serving Israeli and international cuisine, and a full Israeli breakfast is served each morning at the hotel. Services at the hotel include free Wi-Fi in public areas and free parking. A spacious pagoda was built over the baths, fully equipped treatment rooms operated by a skilled and experienced team of therapists with a 30-year reputation, snack bars and a convenience store.
In recent years, the summer season has been receiving focused attention for tourists. A spectacular tent village was established every summer in the heart of the site. The village includes air-conditioned tents that serve as a wonderful lodging solution for the summer, and next to it are family tents without air conditioning and a neat camping area for fans of independent camping. A spacious swimming pool with cold water and a mini water park that includes the splash slide which is a children's attraction alongside the Gymboree. During the holidays and the summer vacation, various activities are added, including a unique circus, bubble and water activities, alongside a variety of activities of the site: a visit to a spectacular mini safari, breathtaking parrot shows, and a fishing park.
Sharon Ninyo, CEO of Hamat Gader: We are working energetically on the plan to restore the Roman baths and turn them into a leading tourist attraction alongside a plan to build an elegant hostel in the older buildings of the park and restoration of the fourth century synagogue. In addition, renovations are planned for the old hotel that was in use years ago, and we are constantly working to develop and promote the site as a tourist anchor point in the Jordan Valley.

Hamat Gader - Hot Springs - Parrot Show - Aligator Park - Roman Antiquities
One of the most beautiful and popular health retreats in the Roman Empire was in Hamat Gader on the southern ascent to the Golan Heights.
Today you can see the remains of the incredible Roman Baths and an ancient amphitheatre.
There are modern hot springs and mineral baths fed by underwater springs at temperatures over 40 degrees celcius. There are no separate bathing facilities, however in the winter until Shabbat HaGadol, there is men only night on Thursday nights until 2am.
Even if you don't use the Hot Springs or fresh water pool, there is a lot to see and do.
We watched the family-friendly parrot show, then took a stroll through the alligator park and petting zoo. There are lovely grounds for a picnic near the ancient Roman ruins.
It's only 20 minutes from our Zimmers at Villa Rimona in Yavne'el. Watch our playlist of other sights in the area. Or call (USA) 718-717-2192 or (ISRAEL) 077-419-9001 for more info or to reserve a Zimmer. VillaRimona.com

My name is Zahi Shaked
In 2000 I became a registered liscenced tourist guide.
My dedication in life is to pass on the ancient history of the Holy Land.
Following upon many years of travel around the world, which was highlighted by a very exciting emotional and soul-searching meeting with the Dalai Lama, I realized that I had a mission. To pass on the the history of the Holy Land, its religions, and in particular, the birth and development of Christianity.
In order to fulfill this calling in the best way possible, I studied in depth, visited, and personally experienced each and every important site of the ancient Christians. I studied for and received my first bachelors degree in the ancient history of the Holy Land, and am presently completing my studies for my second degree.(Masters)
Parralel to my studies, and in order to earn a living, I was employed for many years in advertising. What I learned there was how to attract the publics attention, generate and, increase interest, and assimilate information. All this I use as tools to describe, explain and deepen the interest in the sites that we visit. From my experience, I have learned that in this way, the Holy Land becomes more than just history, and that the large stones that we see scattered about in dissaray, join together one by one until they become - a Byzantine Church. This also happens when I lead a group of Pilgrims in the Steps of Jesus. We climb to the peak of Mount Precipice, glide over the land to the Sea of Galilee, land on the water and see the miracle which enfolds before us. This is a many faceted experience. Not only history which you will remember and cherish, but an experience which I hope will be inplanted in your hearts and minds, and will accompany you all the days of your life.
The best sites in the Sea of Galilee
Hamat Gader
These waters reportedly speed up cell renewal and relieve urinary tract and digestive issues. A separate-ticket Spa Village contains a secluded area offering a range of treatments and hot and wet saunas. Four restaurants include kosher fish/meat and vegetarian options.
Kibbutz Ein Gev
Looking for a place to hunker down after a long day of activities at the Kinneret? For some well-deserved R&R, hop over to Kibbutz Ein Gev on the eastern shore of the Sea of Galilee. With its own private beach, this holiday resort is a perfect spot to check-in for an evening and recharge before another adventure-packed day at the array of sites nearby, including the Hamat Gader hot springs, the Jordan River, and a handful of archeological sites.
Korazim National Park
A 25 acre park, Korazim is one of the most well preserved ancient cities dating back to the Second Temple era. Korazim is mentioned in the New Testament as one of the three cities cursed by Jesus (along with Bethsaida and Capernaum). Antiquities are a dime a dozen here, and the stones are stained black having been hewed from the volcanic basalt rock. Check out the basaltic fourth century synagogue and ancient ritual bath, or mikve.
Naharayim Park
Nestled peacefully between Israel and Jordan, where the Yarmouk River meets the Jordan River, is Naharayim Park. Literally “two rivers” in Hebrew, this scenic park offers a variety of informative, riveting tours. Discover how the “Chagal” site creates “green” electricity from organic materials, follow in the footsteps of poet Naomi Shemer, or listen to the myths of the Jordan Valley. No matter which tour you choose, you’re in for a truly unique educational experience.
Yigal Alon Promenade (Tiberias Promenade) and light show
Every year, thousands of tourists flock to Tiberias, Israel’s lowest city, for its wide variety of attractions and activities. After a long day at the water park and a delicious meal, take an evening stroll down the promenade for its newest addition: a magnificent multisensory music and light show. With dancing fountains, pyrotechnics, and a state-of-the-art laser show, your senses won’t know what hit them.
Sea of Galilee hot springs and Hamat Tiberias national park
Known in the Talmud for their curative powers, these mineral-rich waters are now paired with modern accoutrements, including indoor/outdoor thermal pools, a lap pool (heated in winter), free beach access, gym, dry and wet sauna, mud wraps, massage and more.
Shvil Sovev Kinneret
The Shvil Sovev Kinneret, a 35 km long trail, is one of the most magical, ambitious trails that the Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel offers the public to enjoy the Sea of Galilee at no cost. The trail winds around the Kinneret and involves hiking on 2-5 km sections covered by eucalyptus trees, fish pools, historic sites and local wildlife. If you get tired, you can freshen up with a dip in the sea, so don't forget to bring your swimsuit.
