Denmark Castles - Hamlet's Castle at Helsingor
The Kronborg Castle is located at the northern tip of Zealand Island in Helsingor, Denmark; it was used by Shakespeare as the location (Elsinore) for his play Hamlet. The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark, often shortened to Hamlet, is a tragedy written by William Shakespeare at an uncertain date between 1599 and 1602. Set in the Kingdom of Denmark, the play dramatizes the revenge Prince Hamlet is instructed to enact on his uncle Claudius.

Denmark Travel Vlog: Hamlet's Castle, and a Very White Christmas!
Our last few days in Denmark did not disappoint! Since Copenhagen is quite small, we decided to venture outside of the city.
Here are some of the highlights of our trip:
TORVEHALLERNE – The best food hall in Copenhagen to try out amazing Danish dishes such as the Smørrebrød, or open face sandwiches.
HELSINGOR – Just a 40-min train ride from Copenhagen city, this busy ferry town is the closest you can get to Sweden.
KRONBORG CASTLE – Is a 14-th Century castle that is said to house Shakespeare’s Hamlet

Hamlet's Kronborg Castle - Helsingør / Elsinore - Denmark - 4K
Kronborg Castle – Home of Shakespeare’s Hamlet - towers above a very narrow promontory between the coasts of Denmark and Sweden. The renaissance castle stands majestically with its spires, towers, columns, sandstone and copper roofs. Kronborg Castle is a magnificent renaissance palace.
Kronborg Castle has existed at Helsingør (Elsinore) since 1420. It’s been burned to the ground and rebuilt since, but always maintained its vital position at the head of the Øresund Sound. Ships passing into the Baltic Sea paid tolls at Kronborg Castle and Helsingør was once one of the most important towns in Europe. In 2000, Kronborg Castle became a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Kronborg Castle (Denmark): Home of Hamlet
The 600-year-old Kronborg Castle sits at the edge of Denmark's northern shore, overlooking Sweden. A twenty-mile drive north of Copenhagen will take you straight to it.
The castle was the inspired setting for Shakespeare's Hamlet, and has an impressive true history of its own. Make sure to visit on your next trip to Denmark.

Travelogue showing the wonders of Copenhagen, Denmark.
Lots of nice footage of a boat trip through the city with a girl in a great shiny red PVC coat giving a guided tour. Various shots of local Copenhagen women working on the dockside on stalls selling fish. The women prepare the fish for sale. Various landmarks are seen then a pavement cafe, the Tivoli Gardens (including views from the crazy big wheel), various fairground rides, Copenhagen Zoo etc.
Shots of the Little Mermaid statue. Hydrofoil zooms past. Interior of the hydrofoil - looks like a fairly rocky ride. They are headed for Sweden. Yachting off Elsinore. Hamlet's Castle at Elsinore (?). Various shots of the castle and views of the harbour. Tram ride through Copenhagen and more scenic shots of landmark. Family are served lunch at a pavement cafe. Hot sausage stall - group of women dip sausages in mustard. Traffic policeman directs cars and many people cycle past. Postmen in bright red jackets are seen cycling through the streets.
Cycle race at a professional racing track. The Danes are racing against the World Champions - the Russian Olympic Team. Various shots of the race and then a tandem race.
The Tivoli Guard and the King's Guard on parade at the Royal Castle.
Night shots of Copenhagen - bright lights and decorations at the Tivoli Gardens. Fireworks.
Wonderful, wonderful Copenhagen is played throughout.

Take a tour of Kronborg Castle in Denmark -- part of the World's Greatest Attractions series by GeoBeats.
Hi, I am Naomi and I am very excited to show you the world's greatest attractions.
The Danish Kronborg Castle is among the most important renaissance castles of Europe.
Shakespeare used its dramatic character for the setting of Hamlet.
Although nearly 600 years old, for almost 200 years the castle acted as a prison.
The castle's towers are stoic against the Baltic Sea's salty wind.
Cannons exhibit the powerful and strategic position the castle occupies.
The castle grounds now house studios for up and coming artists.
Kronborg Castle is a place of history, elegance and beauty.
