Sharm El Sheikh - Tiran Island - Dives at Gordon and Jackson reef, June 22nd 2019
SHARM EL SHEIKH, RED SEA EGYPT
Under water footage performed at the wonderful Tiran Island Gordon and Jackson Reef dive sites on June 22nd, 2019.
Movie and video editing by Franco Fonsati, with GoPro Hero 6 Black Edition equipped with red filter.
The dives have been managed by Sharm Scuba Services, a high qualified Team operating in Sharm El Sheikh Tivoli Hotel.
The divers group is part of the Magnagatti Diving Club based on the district area of Vicenza, Verona and Padova belonging to the Veneto region, Italy.
I like in particular the magnificient coral reef that is possible to still see in the Red Sea. This ecosystem is formed by colonies of coral polyps and the variety of the reef buildings are infinite. Reef colors and appearances are my favourites, as you can see in this movie, and they are populated by a lot of interesting reef sea life.
Elphinstone Egypt Dive Site Review - www.simplyscuba.com
In this video our scuba expert Mark dives in Elphinstone, Egypt.
Elphinstone reef is a long and thin reef that sits close to shore and benefits from a steady current that brings valuable nutrients to the reef. The very steep sides make Elphinstone a wall dive where you need to maintain good buoyancy control and monitor your depth frequently. At the North and South points there are plateaus at about 25m that lead out and down to 40m. The south point has good chances for hammerhead shark sightings if the conditions are right.
Plenty of hard and soft corals make Elphinstone one of the most vibrant reefs with anthiases covering small outcroppings and caves filled with glass fish. The current feeds large sea fans that filter the water for nutrients and is home to one of the rarer species in the Red Sea, the long nose hawkfish.

Diving in Tiran Island at Sharm El Sheikh Egypt
Tiran (Arabic: جزيرة تيران Jazīrat Tīrān,[1] aka Jezîret Tīrān[2] and Yotvat Island,[3][4] is an Egyptian-administered island that is also claimed by Saudi Arabia.[5] It is located at the entrance of the Straits of Tiran, which separates the Red Sea from the Gulf of Aqaba. It has an area of about 80 km2 (30 sq mi). It is part of the Ras Muhammad National Park. The definite sovereignty over Tiran Island is left unclear by both Egypt and Saudi Arabia, due to geostrategic reasons. The Straits of Tiran is Israel's only access from the Gulf of Aqaba to the Red Sea, and Egypt's blockade of the Straits of Tiran on 22 May 1967 was the casus belli for Israel in the Six Day War.[6]
Tiran Island is of strategic significance in the area, as it forms the narrowest section of the Straits of Tiran, which is an important sea passage to the major ports of Aqaba in Jordan and Eilat in Israel. Israel briefly took over Tiran Island during the Suez Crisis and again from 1967 to 1982 following the Six Day War. The island is currently inhabited only by military personnel from Egypt and the Multinational Force and Observers [MFO].

Diving in Sharm El Sheikh - Tiran Island with EmKa Divers.wmv
For more information on Diving in Sharm El Sheikh and Dahab, please visit our website emkadivers.com
Tiran Island is located at the southern end of Gulf of Aqaba. It is a 1,000 meter deep where the Gulf narrows and becomes shallower.
With the change of Tide, massive quantities of water flow through this bottleneck causing very strong currents. In the center of the Strait of Tiran, a ridge pushes up, running from north to south. On its highest top are four coral reefs (Gordon Reef, Woodhouse Reef, Thomas and Jackson Reefs), which are named after British cartographers.
The currents around these reefs are the major cause for the phenomenal selection of corals and big fish swarms. Besides the extraordinary colorful fish, you can see Barracudas, Snappers as well as sharks.
These dive sites can be reached by boat around one hour sailing time from Neama Bay or Sharks Bay.
