Hamsterley Forest MTB Cinematic 4K
Hi just a short video I managed to take using my Mavic Pro at Hamsterley Forest in Durham, England. I met a few guys at the viewpoint and asked if I could film them shredding up the trails. It was hard to keep upand get such smooth footage, a FPV drone is definately on the cards next time!

Britain's Best Trails 2019: As Voted for by You | Mountain Bike Rider
We’re celebrating the hard-working folk responsible for the trails we love to ride with our MBR Trail of the Year competition in association with SRAM. We asked you, our readers, to vote for your favourite new UK trails of 2019 in two categories: Commercially built and volunteer built. With great pleasure we can now reveal the winners.
As ever with the Trail Of The Year awards the response for nominations was incredible. All kinds of trails from across the country were put forward and after collating your suggestions seven finalists for each category emerged. We then asked you to vote for your favourites and when the polls closed we were left with two very worthy winners.
Hamsterley and LUBP are each worthy winners of MBR Trail Of The Year awards. Each takes the concept of creating a trail that is fun to ride whatever your ability but their locations couldn’t be more different. Both, though, are much more than just good places to ride. These trails are being used to drive change and to grow the sport and develop new riders while at the same time keeping experienced riders coming back for more. It’s not an easy task but when it works it works well, so it’s no surprise that both K-Line and LUBP Red Trail have won over MBR readers.
Both trails also show that mountain biking and trail building in particular can be a catalyst for bigger and better things – bringing people together, giving a sense of purpose and rewarding efforts, both on and off the bike. Time on the bike is precious but time spent building new places to ride is equally worthwhile.
Trail Of The Year finalists: Commercially built
Leeds Urban Bike Park -Red Trail, 38%
Revolution Bike Park – Vision Line, 33%
BikePark Wales – Enter The Dragon, 10%
Dyfi Bike Park, 9%
Coed-y-Brenin – MinorTaur Blue Trail, 6%
Dirt Factory Indoor Bike Park, 2%
Nant yr Arian – Blue Trail, 2%
Trail Of The Year finalists: Volunteer built (wins £2,000 of funding from SRAM)
K-Line Trail (Hamsterley Trailblazers) – Hamsterley Forest, 29%
Oakwell Hall (Ride Kirklees), 20%
Woburn Bike Park (Woburn Bike Trails) – Longslade Trail, 13%
Forest Of Dean (Dean Trail Volunteers) – Verderers, 10%
Cannock Chase (Chase Trails) – Follow The Dog, 10%
Gisburn Forest (Gisburn Foret Trail Builders) – The Long Way Down, 10%

Hamsterley Forest - Mountain Biking (Part 1)
Me and my friends decided to go to Hamsterley Forest in the North East of England for a bit of mountain biking before we all went back to Uni/Jobs.
We mounted up the bikes on the 1.0lt micra and headed off. This was the first actual mountain tracks we had been on. As our normal bike rides are down bike tracks in our local town. (Not the best in the world)
We arrived at the forest unpacked the car got ourselves ready and off we went. We did not quite expect such a thrilling ride ahead of us!
Here is the first part of the video (as my movie making software is rubbish and apparently doesn't like saving long videos... even though it was only 8 minutes long)
Part 2 is here -

Hamsterley Forest Red and Black Grade MTB Trails - Mountain Biking in Durham
Hamsterley Forest is the largest forest in County Durham and is a top mountain biking destination in the North East of England. It’s home to blue, red and black grade trails, as well as a skills area and Descend Bike Park.
In this video I’ll be riding some of the black grade sections and some of the red, too. Specifically, Pike’s Teeth, Root 666, Odd Sox, Two Wheels and a Troll, Polty’s Last Blast, K-Line, Transmission, Accelerator and Nitrous.
Come and take a ride with me and see just what Hamsterley has to offer.

Hamsterley Forest Skills Loop With My 5 Year Old Nephew
My 5 year old nephew has been begging me to make a video of him riding his bike. We’ve been doing quite a few fire road rides, but I thought the time was right to take him onto a proper trail.
Anyone with kids or if your new to riding and want to progress from fire roads I would highly recommend Hamsterley skills loop. It’s an amazing place to progress and build confidence on the bike with features everyone can tackle or optional lines if your not quite ready.
All I can say is that I'm so proud of this little guy. He did scare me quite a few times and all he wants to do is jumps and skids, who doesn't love a skid!!!
It was a barrel of laughs all day long. One big kid and one little kid.

Hamsterley Marathon 2016 | Trail Marathon
A challenging, hilly trail marathon in one of the most beautiful forests in England.
Last year I came up to County Durham to run the Hamsterley Marathon and left with two busted Achilles tendons.
This year, two weeks on from the Norfolk 100KM and I had an axe to grind with this race.
As one of two marathons I was running that weekend I took it fairly steady, and thanks to a slight change to the route and 4 miles extra of hills meant I crossed the line in just over 5 hours.

On May 15th 2016 riders took part in a charity mountain bike challenge of epic proportions, rightly named the Hamsterley Beast. Last year the Hamsterley Beast 2015 raised over £10,000 for The Great North Air Ambulance and this year looks set to smash that amount. The challenge was set up to raise as much money as possible for this much needed service.
