4.History background:
The Daming Palace (Palace of Great Brilliance) was the imperial palace complex of the Tang Dynasty, located in its capital Chang'an. It served as the royal residence of the Tang emperors for more than 220 years. Today, it is designated as a national heritage site of China. The area is located northeast of present-day Xi'an, Shaanxi Province.
The Tang dynasty (618-907AD) was an imperial dynasty of China preceded by the Sui dynasty and followed by the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period. It was founded by the Li family, who seized power during the decline and collapse of the Sui Empire. The Tang dynasty maintained a civil service system by recruiting officials through standardized examinations and recommendations to office. The Tang government also gave great reputations to outstanding foreign officals and scholars who work or study in empire and Tang also got lots of respect from other regions.
Because of the mistake of making military policy. the emperors lost control of military and regional warlords rose up. The Tang empire took a heavy toll from the 8-year period of An Lushan Rebellion. This disaster made it impossible to back to prosperity again. In late period, eunuchs took control of whole empire by holding young emperors, and imperial officials and regional warlords fought each other for the power. In 907 A.D, warlord Zhu Quanzhong occupied Chang'an city, the Tang Dynasty was end.
The golden age of Tang dynasty were open, colourful and peaceful. In two censuses of the 7th and 8th centuries, the Tang records estimated the population by number of registered households at about 50 million people. The capital Chang'an (present-day Xi'an), which at the time was the richest international city in the world with maximum of 1,000,000 people, is generally regarded as a high point in Chinese civilization - a golden age of cosmopolitan culture. There were the biggest prosperous market which attracted foreign businessmen from the Silk Road. The women in Tang Dynasty got unbelievable social freedoms. Wu Zetian was the only female emperor in Chinese history.
Through use of the land trade along the Silk Road and maritime trade by sail at sea, the Tang were able to gain many new technologies, cultural practices, rare luxury, and contemporary items. From the Middle East, India, Persia, and Central Asia the Tang were able to acquire new ideas in fashion, new types of ceramics, and improved silver-smithing. To the Middle East, the Islamic world coveted and purchased in bulk Chinese goods such as silks, lacquerwares, and porcelain wares. Songs, dances, and musical instruments from foreign regions became popular in China during the Tang dynasty. Chinese culture flourished and further matured during the Tang era; it is considered the greatest age for Chinese poetry. Two of China's most famous poets, Li Bai and Du Fu, belonged to this age, as did many famous painters such as Han Gan, Zhang Xuan, and Zhou Fang. There was a rich variety of historical literature compiled by scholars, as well as encyclopedias and geographical works. Tang also exerted a powerful cultural influence over neighboring states such as those in Korea, Japan, and Vietnam.
There were many notable innovations during the Tang, including the development of woodblock printing, Chinese medicine and gunpowder.

Western Han Mural Tomb, Xi'an, China
The Virtual Museum of the Western Han Dynasty Project is a joint research between UC Merced and the Xi'an Jiaotong University aimed to the digital documentation of archaeological sites, artifacts and cultural relics of the Western Han Dynasty.
One of the most important archaeological examples in Xi'an is represented by the mural paintings of the monumental tombs of the Western Han Dynasty. The murals show a very rich repertory of subjects such as scenes of daily life, rituals and ascension to heaven. In this movie we present a preliminary case study on the semantics of the tomb M 27's iconography (excavated in Xi'an in 2004 and documented by laser scanning) obtained through 3D virtual cybermaps.

45m Views For Majestic Chinese Beauty Roly-Poly Doll
This young woman’s performances as a majestic roly-poly doll have skyrocketed her to fame and seen footage of her in action watched more than 45 million times in two days.
Feng Jiachen, 23, has made headlines across China for her performances as a wobbly or tumbler doll at the scenic area known as Datang Everbright City in Xi’an, capital of north-western Shaanxi Province.
Footage of the expert dancer shows her swinging seemingly effortlessly back and forth, swaying towards and away from baying audience members who try to touch her.
The real-life version of the traditional roly-poly or round-bottomed doll is made possibly by a large semi-sphere and steel frame, onto which she is strapped before the start of every show.
She and other dancers – both male and female – have reportedly come through a rigorous selection process.
Male dancers must weigh no more than 60 kilogrammes (9.4 stone), while their female counterparts are restricted to below 50 kilogrammes (7.8 stone) in order for their rig not to fall to the ground.
Ms Feng also wears heavy makeup and traditional Chinese clothing from the Tang Dynasty (618 to 907 AD), when the former capital was located in Chang’an, now called Xi’an.
Her videos, in which equally impressive dance partners also feature, have been widely shared on every Chinese social media platform.
She is now the subject of much fanfare every time she steps onto her poly-roly rig in front of hundreds to thousands of crowd members.
Ms Feng told local media: “I learned dancing as a child, and it became my hobby.
“I’m very happy to be performing at Datang Everbright City now because it’s what I like to do.
“I started working as a roly-poly in July. Unlike traditional performances, I interact a lot with audience members and also need to master the skill of being a roly-poly.
“We didn’t expect our performances to become so popular. It has been very surprising to be a viral sensation.
“But nothing has changed. I’m still doing my best to give the best performances I can.”
Ms Feng holds three to four shows every night, reports said.
Tang Dynasty Village Singapore mpeg4
The Tang Dynasty Village was opened in 1992 costing over $100 million and occupied a area of 12 ha land in Jurong. The village was model on the ancient 7th century village of Chang 'An in mainland China, now today city of Xian. The enterance to the park was a full scale replica of The Great Wall and attractions included life size replicas of Emperor Qin Shi Huang's terracotta army, a stunning laser light show
The theme park was open for only 7 year before final closure in 1999 due to a number of events, some people blame the Asian finacial crisis, some the high addmission charge, others say the park was dull, uninteresting.....
After closure the Tang Dynasty Village enterance was boarded up and the village was left abandon for several years while the landowners tries to find a alternative use. Although the buildings were stripped of anything of value, the buildings were left to slowly decay as nature take over
In May 2008 decision was finally made to demolish the site, by November the site was levelled.

The Introduction of Xi'an, which was known as the capital of Tang Dynasty and being the capital of China for 13 Dynasty for more than 1200 years.
Xi'an ([ɕí.án] ( listen); Chinese: 西安; pinyin: xī'ān), formerly romanized as Sian,[1][2] is the capital of Shaanxi province, located in the northwest of China, in the center of the Guanzhong Plain.[3] One of the oldest cities in China, the city was known as Chang'an before the Ming dynasty.[1] Xi'an is the oldest of the Four Great Ancient Capitals of China, having held the position under several of the most important dynasties in Chinese history,[4] including Zhou, Qin, Han, Sui, and Tang.[4] Xi'an is the starting point of the Silk Road and home to the Terracotta Army of Emperor Qin Shi Huang.[1]
Since the 1990s, as part of the economic revival of interior China especially for the central and northwest regions, the city of Xi'an has re-emerged as an important cultural, industrial and educational centre of the central-northwest region, with facilities for research and development, national security and China's space exploration program. Xi'an currently holds sub-provincial status, administering 9 districts and 4 counties.[5] As of 2015 Xi'an has a population of 8,705,600 and the Xi'an-Xianyang metropolitan area has a population of 13,569,700.[6][7] It is the most populous city in Northwest China, as well as one of the three most populous cities in Western China.[8] According to a July 2012 report by the Economist Intelligence Unit, it was recently named as one of the 13 emerging megacities, or megalopolises, in China.[9] The report pinpoints and highlights the demographic and income trends that are shaping these cities' development.
