Walking the Rice Terraces in Yuanyang
August 2011 and we travel to Yuanyang to hike along the rice terraces. Yuanyang is only reachable by long distance coach from Kunming and we decide to take the late afternoon sleeper coach. Arriving at 5am we are met by people offering us accomodation.
Unforunately our holiday has to be cut short and we only spend two days in Yuanyang but having been there once we realise that the best time to vist the area is in the late Autumn or early Spring when the scenery is more dramatic.
Anyway, have a look at the video and see what we did! Also take a look at our trip to the Longji Rice Terraces where we stayed at Ping'an and spent 5 days walking in the terraces. Hiking in the Longji Rice Terraces - Ping'an to Tian Tou and Ping'an to Old Longji.
