photographer Agnes Dherbeys was born in South Korea and adopted into a French family. She travels to the heart of Korea's traditional homeland, to Jeollabuk-do's Jeonju, Wanju, and Sunchang.
Agnes discovers local performance at the Jeonju International Sori Festival, tastes classic bean sprout stew in Nambu Market, and learns about the beauty of handmade fans from a dying breed of artisan. At Wanju's Wild Food Festival she is taken to 1970s Korea, before being swept into a village known for its modern take on jangseung totem poles.
Though the generations have changed, the beauty of the Korean spirit remains the same. Agnes journeys to Jeollabuk-do in search of the meaning behind Korean.

My husband took this video in South Korea of paper (hanji) being made by hand. You can see in the store many of the finished colour papers and also the clothes made by this locally crafted paper. This is a Theme Park cum Museum in where they reserved Korean traditional hand making paper to modern paper. There are a lots of collections of world's different region's hand made paper. They also offer a weekly event which illustrates and teaches how to make paper from mulberry bushes by hand especially for school going children.

This summer we had some friends visiting from London so we took them to my husband's hometown of Jeonju.
Jeonju is one of the most famous cities in Korea for food and especially famous for bibimbap. But here you can see there is much more to Jeonju than that! See my husbands favorite foods ranging from hanjeongsik, kalbi, memil guksu, kongnamul gukbap, kimchi jjigae, and makgeolli.
