Hanmer Springs is a small town 1.5 hours north of Christchurch, New Zealand. It is famous for its thermal pools, as well as a destination for bungy jumping, jet boating, hiking, fishing, skiing and of course mountain biking. In this video we go along one of the shorter trails, Swoop. It's quick, flowy, and has some tricky turns that will test your skills.

Hanmer Springs - Swoop - GoPro
Swoop is a 2km gradual downhill mountain bike track in Hanmer Forest. The track can also be done in the other direction (uphill). Rated as Intermediate (Grade 3) this track flows really well, it has some small lips that can be jumped, some smalls berms and lots of open track to get heaps of speed.
Hanmer Springs - Tank Track - GoPro
Tanks Track is a 1.1km downhill track in Hanmer Springs. The grade 4 (advanced) track goes from Clarence Valley Road to the landing at the bottom of Conical Hill. Being one of the new tracks, it is well formed with not many ruts. While it may be lacking a few berms it is still and fast flowing track and very enjoyable.

This is a video of my motorbike ride thru the Rainbow rd. A stunning piece of NZ. I spent the night at Lake Tennyson. Amazing. I have MTBed it towing a trailer. Sue now wants to ride it over 3 days supported. Next yr prehaps?
