Japanese Lion Dance using real samurai swords in Hanno City, Saitama
A traditional Lion Dance (Shishimai) festival held at Shimonaguri Suwa Shrine in Hanno City, Saitama Prefecture.
This dance is recognized as one of Saitama's important intangible folk cultural asset.
They use real Japanese/samurai sword (katana) during the dance, which can be very dangerous.

[DOTJPN 2015] The Stone 014 - Hanno-shi Hinamatsuri festival ( and the Astro Boy)
I went to the quiet town away from Tokyo a little Hanno-shi in Saitama-ken to see Hinamatsuri today.
Hinamatsuri is also called girl's festival. Because it's the day when I wish girl's growth and prosperity.
It's held in March every year in Hanno-shi.
The event it isn't a big event, but by which Tutumashisa (modesty) shows very often appropriate for Japan. It's said that this festival is also using an ordinary private house for a fascinating one. There is also something common people used 250 years ago (the Edo Period) in the exhibited doll! (01:10-01:16)
I was very excited at the traditional Japanese-ness.
There was also a famous image of Tetuwan Atom（Astro Boy）, and Osamu Tezuka's picture was also in front of the art object.

2016飯能まつり、 埼玉県 -- Hanno Festival, Saitama-pref, Japan
Hanno Festival took place in Hanno City, Saitama-pref, Japan on
Nov 5th & 6th, 2016. It was, fortunately, fine on these two days.
Many people gathered in Hanno Central area where lots of Festival activities were planned and performed. People joined the Festival and enjoyed it very much.

This short video was shot on 31 December 2009, when I visited Hanno, a city in Greater Tokyo, with my old friends Mickey and Stefan. The temperature was probably around 5 degrees Celsius. This was the first time that I saw the snow falling this winter.

Shot from my balcony in Nakayama, Hanno City, Saitama Prefecture, Japan. Over about 8 hours, one photo every 10 seconds. Filmed in June during the rainy season here, however on this day it wasn't raining, just a nice smattering of clouds moving around in different layers around the sky. There are a lot of aircraft, mostly American military planes running exercises from nearby Yokota Air Base.

February 20th, 2011 Hanno, Saitama, Japan Farewell Party for Brea Delegation
this is just part of the farewell party that i took part of. everyone was required to do some performance there. the whole brea delegation, excluding myself, danced to Michael Jackson Thriller prior to this. i wasn't in that one because i was getting changed to my dancing clothes. and a few of us did a dance individually, i danced first, and it was Shinee Lucifer it looks pretty bad, but this was before i started to really master the parts. so yeah. and 2 other girls from the delegation danced after. and then the Hanno students from Japan danced as a group afterwards, and they dance to Beginner by AKB48. so yeah.
