Making of the Moominvalley Park in Japan
In this video, we take you on a behind the scenes-trip into Moominvalley Park, showing images from the construction site in Hanno, Japan. The park will open in March 2019.
We also tag along when the Moominvalley Park team goes treasure-hunting local shops and flea markets in Helsinki, Finland for things to use in the Moominhouse they are building. They look for old things to give the Moominhouse the authentic, bohemian look. Can you guess what they buy for Moomin's room?

A theme park based on the world of Finland's Moomin fairytale characters opened in Saitama Prefecture near Tokyo on Saturday.
Located within a Nordic-themed attraction named Metsa Village in the city of Hanno, Moominvalley Park features buildings and attractions inspired by the Moomin stories, a series created and published by Finnish novelist and artist Tove Jansson in 1945.
Moomins have been popular in Japan since the debut of an animated series about them in 1969, making the country a perfect location for an amusement park, the first of its kind outside Finland.

► WHO AM I?
Short answer: I am a Brazilian journalist living in the United States. After traveling the world working with sports, news, and events for over 15 years, I realized that what I really love is the travel part of it all. So I exchanged life in the newsrooms and stadiums for the daily challenge of being an independent content producer. I created this channel to share the beauties of the world... stuff that for so long I only kept to myself. Also to help people planning similar trips and to inspire more people to venture out and enjoy life!
Detailed answer: ????
P.S.: The guy who occasionally appears in the vlogs is my husband, Gordon. He is Canadian-American and is extremely camera shy, that's why he's behind the camera most of the time ;-)

YOKOHAMA, Japan: Nissan Stadium, Ramen Museum, Cup Noodles Museum | Vlog 5
Yokohama, Japan is well known for soccer (or football ????) and ramen. In this video, you see the most famous attractions in both fields. In Shin-Yokohama, we visit the Nissan Stadium (also known as Yokohama Stadium), and the Ramen Museum, where you can try some of the best ramen bowls you'll ever have. Food in Japan is always delicious!
The Nissan Stadium is famous for the 2002 FIFA World Cup Final and is often used for major events in Japan. In 2020, it will also host Olympic soccer matches. Now that the Rugby World Cup is over, stadium visits have resumed.
From the Ramen Museum, we went to the Cup Noodles Museum, back in Minato Mirai 21, where you can learn about Momofuku Ando, the creator of instant ramen noodles, the history of instant ramen and cupnoodles. We closed the day visiting the mall across the street, World Porters, and enjoying the view from the Ferris wheel at Cosmo World.
Yokohama is perfect for a Tokyo day trip, but my advice? Stay longer ????
Yokohama is located in the Tokyo metro area and has one of the most beautiful waterfronts in Japan. In this series of videos, you will keep watching a detailed Yokohama, Japan tour, including a lot of things to do.

A lot of Japanese shopping streets and old districts seem pretty similar (or way out of price range) but Okage Yokocho (right in front of Ise Jingu) was really awesome! There were so many things to see and do, and the food was all amazing. :D Ise ebi was probably the only thing I couldn't handle--Japanese spiny lobster, served raw and still moving. :( But the rest of the food was amazing!! If you're in Mie prefecture, I definitely recommend a trip to Okage Yokocho!

[DOTJPN 2015] The Stone 014 - Hanno-shi Hinamatsuri festival ( and the Astro Boy)
I went to the quiet town away from Tokyo a little Hanno-shi in Saitama-ken to see Hinamatsuri today.
Hinamatsuri is also called girl's festival. Because it's the day when I wish girl's growth and prosperity.
It's held in March every year in Hanno-shi.
The event it isn't a big event, but by which Tutumashisa (modesty) shows very often appropriate for Japan. It's said that this festival is also using an ordinary private house for a fascinating one. There is also something common people used 250 years ago (the Edo Period) in the exhibited doll! (01:10-01:16)
I was very excited at the traditional Japanese-ness.
There was also a famous image of Tetuwan Atom(Astro Boy), and Osamu Tezuka's picture was also in front of the art object.

Japan Travel Vlog 1 - First time in Saitama(Japan)
Hello everyone, I always wanted to go Japan and now I'm finally here. I really didn't know what to expect but Japan is actually a pretty cool place to visit. For all the first time travellers that want to go to Japan, make sure you bring a translator(book, or dictionary) because people in Japan never speaks English(except in Tokyo). So communication is the key. Luckily, my dad worked in Japan for a couple of years so he knows how to speak Japanese. In this video, we went to explore Japanese Shopping Center, food and restaurants. You'll enjoy this video if yo like Japanese food and Japanese things. :)

Japan's Ice Village
We're traveling to about half of Japan's prefectures this year thanks to Odigo! You can follow our trips and plan your own on their website:
Daily vlogs of our trips and overall prefecture tours are uploaded to their channel:
This is the Ice Village at Lake Shikaribetsu Kotan in central Hokkaido ( It takes quite a bit of traveling to get there, but once you're in the city the local buses will pick you from the train stations and take you to the lake for free during the ice village season! (Make sure to talk to the hotel front desk to get a free ticket for the bus on the return ride!) The village is free to walk through but all the activities (drinks, ice carving, snowmobile, staying the night in an igloo, onsen, etc) cost money! The drinks were 500 yen each (~$5), and getting it in an ice glass was an additional 500 yen. Supposedly they may have dog sledding at some point, too!?
We were a little early because they hadn't finished building the chapel or the igloos yet, but it was still really cool to see the ice cafe! You can also eat lunch at a restaurant in the hotel, although Jun and I didn't enjoy our meal very much (ymmv).
We haven't added all our Hokkaido destinations to their website yet, but once we do we'll make our Hokkaido trip and share it!
If there's anywhere in Japan you want to see us travel to and film this year, let us know in the comments! We can go ANYWHERE WE WANT!!

Highway through a Building Story ★ ONLY in JAPAN
Osaka's Gate Tower Building is an amazing sight to see because ... well, how should I put this? A highway goes through the building.
It literally does, and there is a story behind it.
In this episode, John not only goes inside to see where the elevator takes him, he also drives through it -- in a Lotus Seven. We'll also go up the Umeda Sky Building and catch some fantastic angles of the city, skyline and Gate Tower Building.
THE STORY:
Here it is from the building owner.
It’s basically a land rights dispute with a sort of happy ending.
The property was owned by a business (coal and wood company) since the early Meiji era but when business declined, so did the buildings in the 1970s. The area was approved to be redeveloped in 1983 but the property holder refused to give up the land, even though new building permits had been refused to him. The highway corporation and the property owner negotiated for 5 years and what you see today is their compromise. Highways usually buy the land they’re on but a new law in 1989 allowed the possibility of having two owners on the same spot, really meant for highways to go underground but hey – let’s get creative.
The highway is the legal tenant of floors 5 through 7.
The current building tenant on the other floors is TKP.
WHERE IS THE BUILDING WITH THE HIGHWAY THROUGH IT?
Google map:
Closest Station: JR Fukushima Station
It's one stop away from JR Osaka Station on the Loop Line.
Special thank you to TKP and the building owners for allowing me to film inside the building.
