Hanoi Opera House Vietnam
Hanoi Opera House Introduction
According to the proposal of the French Ambassador in Hanoi from 1899, the Governor General of Indochina, Mr.Fourer had approved the budget of 2,000,000 French Francs at that time to build the Hanoi Opera House as a venue: Opéra, chamber music, and drama... serving the French officials and Vietnamese upper class.
A long the history of over 100 years, Hanoi Opera House has always maintained a very luxurious and classic style that surpasses the values and functions of a cultural design. Hanoi Opera House has become a symbol, a familiar image and a pride of the audience, the people of the capital and the country.

Hanoi Opera House Hoan Kiem Lake Car Free Weekend
Hanoi Opera House Hoan Kiem Lake Car Free Weekend. We stayed in Hanoi for 3 nights at the JW Marriott. On one of the mornings, we took a cab to the Hanoi Opera house and then walked towards the Old Quarter. Along the way we passed Hoan Kiem Lake, which is arguably the most famous lake in Hanoi (if not Vietnam) because this was the historical centre of Hanoi. It was a weekend, so the roads around Hoan Kiem Lake were free of cars. It was pretty awesome. Many street buskers, and they made very good music too!

Ambience in front of the Hanoi Opera House, Vietnam
The Hanoi Opera House, or the Grand Opera House (Vietnamese: Nhà hát lớn Hà Nội, French: Opéra de Hanoï) is an architectural work in Hanoi City, Vietnam. The theater is located on the August Revolution Square, located at Trang Tien Street, not far from Hoan Kiem Lake and Vietnam History Museum. The work was started by the French in 1901 and completed in 1911, modeled after the Opéra Garnier Theater in Paris but smaller in stature and using materials suitable for the local climatic conditions. The work of architects Harlay and Broyer brings many colors, architectural features of the theaters in southern France, with the organization of the ground, performance space, stairs, entrance to the lobby ... similar to the theaters in Europe in the early 20th century. Despite being an eclectic architecture, mixed with many styles, Hanoi Opera House still bears the French neoclassical character, especially particularly in architectural structure, the style of two-roofed roof tiles with black stone tiles and decorative motifs inside. The theater currently has 586 seats for music and entertainment activities. Born later than theaters in Ho Chi Minh City and Hai Phong, Hanoi Opera House has the most complete architecture and become a familiar and typical image of Hanoi city.
