Mahavir Mandir of Bihar: One of the leading Hanuman temples in India

Mahavir Mandir, Patna is one of the leading Hanuman temples in the country. Daily thousands of devotees throng the temple and get solace from the worship of Hanumanji. It is a ‘manokamana’ mandir where devotees’ every wish is fulfilled and this is the reason for ever-increasing number of devotees in the temple.

As per the Patna High Court judgment in 1948 the temple exists since time immemorial. But from the scrutiny of historical facts and traditions it appears that this temple was originally established by Swami Balanand, an ascetic of Ramanandi sect in around 1730 A.D.

The main temple has got two idols of Hanumanji one for i.e. for the protection of good people and another for विनाशाय च दुष्कृताम् i.e. for the elimination of the wicked persons. The temple belongs to Ramanand sect although from 1900 A.D. it had been in the possession of the Gosain Sanyasis till 1948 A.D.

In 1948 A.D. it was declared a public temple by Patna High Court. A new, magnificent temple was reconstructed between 1983 and 1985 at the old site at the initiative of Kishore Kunal with devotees’ contribution and now it is one of the most magnificent temples in the country.

रहस्यमय हनुमान जी की विश्व में इकलौती मूर्ति जो लडडू खाती है ! देखिये बुढ़वा मंगल पर विशेष

जनपद इटावा में लगभग 15 किमी की दूरी पर यमुना नदी के पास एक हनुमान जी का अदभुत सिद्ध पीठ मंदिर है । इस मंदिर की विशेषता यह है कि यहां पर हनुमान जी की लेटी हुई प्रतिमा है इस प्रतिमा का मुख में जलस्त्रोत है और यह जलस्त्रोत में हमेशा बुलबुले उठते रहते हैं । इस मन्दिर में हनुमान जी के मुख में लडडू ,दूध और मिठाई का प्रसाद भोग लगता है । विशेष बता यह है कि सम्पूर्ण विश्व में एक ही ऐसी प्रतिमा है जो कि भोग प्रसाद खाती है । इतिहासकार और आध्यात्मिक गुरुओं का कहना है कि महाभारत कालीन युग में जब जरासंध को मारकर हनुमान जी वापस आ रहे थे तब उन्होंने यहां लेटकर विश्राम किया था । भीम को अंहकार अपनी ताकत का हो गया था उसी वक्त युद्ध से लौटते समय भीम के रास्ते में हनुमान जी इसी स्थान पर लेटे हुए मिले तो उनकी पूंछ बीच रास्ते में पडी हुई थी तो भीम ने उनकी पूंछ उठानी चाही तो उसको वो हिला भी नही पाये थे । इस तरह की कुछ अदभुत कहानियां इस स्थान की बताई जाती हैं ।
बुढवा मंगल पर इस मंदिर में लाखों लोगों की भीड होती है । यहां पर अनेक प्रांतो से श्रद्धालु आते हैं । लोगों की मनोकामना पूरी होती है । आम दिनों में जिसमें मंगलवार और शनिवार को तो भक्त आते ही हैं किन्तु बुढवा मंगल पर विशेष तौर से भीड बहुत जबरजस्त होती है । यहां पर आने वाले श्रद्धालुओं का कहना है कि केवल इस धरती का इकलौता ऐसा मंदिर है कि प्रसाद भगवान खाते हैं जो मन्नत मांगों वो पूरी होती है । किन्तु जानकारों का कहना है कि कई लोग यहां यह जानने के लिये आये कि हनुमान जी के मुख में डाला जाने वाला प्रसाद कहां जाता है और इस मंुख में खौलता हुआ पानी क्यों रहता है यह रहस्य कोई नही पता कर पाया है

The Karmanghat Hanuman Temple is one of the oldest and popular Hindu temples in Hyderabad, in the state of Telangana, India. The presiding deity of the temple is Lord Hanuman and the temple complex also houses other deities viz. Lord Rama, Lord Shiva, Goddess Saraswathi, Goddess Durga, Goddess Santoshimata, Lord Venugopala Swamy, and Lord Jagannath. The temple is located at Karmanghat, near Santoshnagar and closer to the Nagarjuna Sagar Ring Road.
Temple is open from 6am to 12 noon and 4:30pm to 8:30pm on all days except Tuesdays and Saturdays.
On Tuesdays and Saturdays it is open from 5.30am to 1pm and 4:30pm to 9pm.
History
It was built in the 12th century A.D (approximately 1143). When a Kakatiya king went hunting and was resting under a tree, he heard the chanting of Lord Rama's name. Wondering who it was in the middle of a dense forest, he discovered a stone idol of Lord Hanuman, in seated posture and the voice coming from the vigraha. Having paid his respects, he returned to his capital, and that night, Lord appeared in his dream and asked him to construct a temple.

The temple was built immediately and successive kings ruled it well. About 400 years later, Aurangzeb sent out his armies to all corners of the country for further expansion of Mughal Empire. At this temple, the army couldn't even step close to the compound wall. When the general reported this to Aurangzeb, he himself went with a crow bar to break down the temple. At the threshold of the temple, he heard a deafening roar rumbling like thunder, and the crowbar slipped from his hands as he was shaking in fear. Then he heard a voice in the heavens Mandir todna hai rajan, to kar man ghat (translation: If you want to break down the temple, O King, harden your heart.) which is why the place got the name kar-man-ghat.

About Karmanghat Hanuman Temple
Karmanghat Hanuman temple is one of the oldest temples in the city of Hyderabad. Karmanghat Hanuman temple was built in 12th century A.D. The word Karmanghat itself has a beautiful story behind it and shows that Lord Hanuman exists in this temple. In the 17th century, after conquering Golconda , Aurangzeb sent his men to destroy the Hanuman temple. When they tried to enter the temple, they were pushed back by some strong force and could not enter. When they reported the matter to Aurangzeb, he himself came down to destroy this temple. He too could not enter the temple and he heard voices which said If you want to enter this temple, make your heart stronger (Karo-man-ghat). Aurangzeb asked the voice to prove its genuinity. Then there were lights all around, and there appeared the form of the Lord. This is how the place came to be called as Karmanghat.
Once when the Kakatiya king Prataprudra II went for hunting, he became tired and came to a place called Lakshmipuram. He heard the roar of a tiger and thought of hunting it down. But he could not find the tiger and sat down again. He heard the roar again and went in that direction. After sometime, he heard the name Shri Ram being chanted. He threw his weapons and went in that direction. He cut down all the leaves and found a Hanuman statue. He prostrated before the Lord and then went back to his fort. That night, the Lord came in his dream and asked him to build a temple in that place. The next day the king laid the foundation and the temple was constructed.
