With roadwork going on in the Morakutty -Ebbanad roadway, the land beside the road suddenly caved in 20 feet deep. The villagers who ventured into the pit using a rope found a tunnel like structure under it. The panicked people have filed a complaint with the district administration. Private and government vehicles have been banned from plying on the road.

Beautiful temple situated above a hillock. The Murugan temple on Elk Hill is accessible by a steep road about 1-2 kms winding uphill. The main attraction besides the deity is the huge statue of Murugan outside the temple. The gold painted statue is beautifully maintained and is serene and awe inspiring. The temple itself is neat, simple and darshan is easy to obtain... No big queues as such.

Elk Hill Murugan Temple ????????

Elk Hill murugan temple in the Hills of Elk Hill. Thaipusam is a famous religious festival that is celebrated in January–February to honour Lord Murugan. Kavadi Attam, a dance performed by the devotees is the highlight of this event conducted at the Elk Hill Murugan Temple.

It is 3 km from OOTY bus terminus.

Recently they have installed Standing statue of Murugan similar to that one you can see in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia..

Must visit in early morning to experience the holiness along with the cool misty clouds..

This famous Yedapali Saibaba temple is located at the Yedapalli Village in Coonoor Block in the Nilgiris District of Tamil Nadu State.
