Dear EDL ... [Spoken Word]

Dear EDL... spoken word poem:
Dear EDL leader,
If I ever get the chance to meet you, I just wanna smile.
You see, words can't describe my love for Islam because it's so sublime,
It teaches me to be humble and work for the community every time.
And I don't understand your beef with halal food because it's not as scary as it sounds.
And I don't understand why you hate us so much because most of us will still hold the door open when you're broken,
Still smile at you when you're swollen,
Ask me for £1 and I'll give you 2, including a token,
My level of respect for humans is not in question.
My halal beef with you, is non-existent.
I just think you're a lost child, who equally needs some guidance,
And my friends, we'll sit with you, like neighbours,
Come and meet us, you're more than welcome,
We can chill and kick it like bros bro, you don't have to be so impatient.
My life as a Muslim is a happy one, my smile will not cause eruptions,
It will cause the moon to shine in the day, and wake you when you're tired without frustrations.
My family are causing you no harm, in fact, we'll probably invite you around for some tea and biscuits.
Crumpets and HobNobs, you choose bro, us Muslims, peace is what we truly believe in.
You're not the only ones trying to fight extremist, even though you're actually one of them.
But that's what we're here for, to help you... get away from becoming intolerant.
Is it too late? Not to worry, you can still join us.
On the march to unity, I'll wait here, go ahead, catch up and follow them.
To a world where love is the key, and our smiles fight warriors,
Turning angry faces into happy ones.
I pray that I see you at the mosque wanting to understand Islam.
By your dear brother in Humanity. Mr. Mohamed, My arms are forever wide open.
Peace... Assalamu Alaaykum, Walaaykum Salam.

Selective Hearing: Brian Deer and The GMC
Brian Deer, a journalist writing for News Internationals Sunday Times, was the only person in the world to complain to a regulatory body about the work of doctors at the Royal Free Hospital in London who diagnosed children with Inflammatory Bowel Disease, which their parents suggested had occurred following MMR vaccination.
In 2003, after 10 years work, legal aid was withdrawn from over 1,000 parents claiming damages in a suit in which Dr Andrew Wakefield was to appear as an expert witness. In 2004 Deer wrote an exposé of Wakefield that was full of concoctions, half truths and fantasies and which claimed that the children examined by the team at the Royal Free were not ill. Deer's distorted pharma--imaginings became the basis of over 80 charges leveled against Dr Wakefield and three other doctors to be 'tried' by the General Medical Council (GMC). The hearing took place over three years between 2007 and 2010 and became one of the longest regulatory hearings ever held in Britain. Brian Deer, the centre of the whole plot, did not give evidence.
In bringing the fitness to practice case against Dr Andrew Wakefield, Professor Simon Murch and Professor John Walker-Smith, the GMC listened to journalist Brian Deer and excluded the views of hundreds of parents of vaccine damaged children. Who is Brian Deer? Vigilante for truth or front man for Big Pharma? Selective Hearing covers Deer's part in the heartbreaking betrayal of vaccine damaged children by the medical profession, the pharmaceutical corporations and the British government.
With the full power of the government and pharmaceutical industry behind him, few people were brave enough to tackle Deer. Alan Golding, however, is a Welshman, a very independent filmmaker and a man of considerable principle. Alan Golding gave himself completely over the three--year duration of the GMC hearing, to the cause of the parents of vaccine damaged children. Selective Hearing features clearly honest personal testimony from parents, an analysis of Deer's faulted case and unique material of him holding forth for the pharmaceutical companies in a heated exchange with parents outside the GMC building. If you see this film you will want to do something about Brian Deer.

People's Postcode Lottery Street Prize winner Whitley Bay NE25 8NP
Some might say it was Judie's turn to strike it lucky this week as, during the sunniest weekend of the year so far, she got a trip to the picturesque coastal town of Whitley Bay - home to this week's winners!
Of course, it was four residents of Dale Road NE25 8NP who were the real winners, sharing an amazing £30,000 between them.
As all players had one ticket, the money was split evenly with £7,500 going straight into each winner's bank account - certainly enough to chase the sunshine abroad after the British summer is over!
One of the winners was 68-year-old Martin Kemp, who celebrated his winnings with his wife Lynne.
It's certainly a surprise, he revealed after answering the door to Judie. I play to support local charities and never expected to be a winner!
Upon revealing his £30,000 prize, delighted Martin explained: We're going on holiday to Guernsey this summer so this will come in extremely handy. After that, who knows? We might even take another trip away!
All four winners were left celebrating in the sunshine thanks to their Street Prize winning cheques.
We've had a lovely day here and the weather was perfect, said Judie McCourt. And we might even be back here for the Summer Postcode Rollover - these guys will certainly be playing!
To be in with a chance of scooping your share of the £2.2million prize pot you have to be in the draw. Register today to guarantee your chance of winning the prize of a lifetime!

RICHARD III of ENGLAND - WikiVidi Documentary
Richard III was King of England from 1483 until his death in 1485, at the age of 32, in the Battle of Bosworth Field. He was the last king of the House of York and the last of the Plantagenet dynasty. His defeat at Bosworth Field, the last decisive battle of the Wars of the Roses, marked the end of the Middle Ages in England. He is the subject of the historical play Richard III by William Shakespeare. When his brother King Edward IV died in April 1483, Richard was named Lord Protector of the realm for Edward's eldest son and successor, the 12-year-old Edward V. Arrangements were made for Edward's coronation on 22 June 1483; but, before the young king could be crowned, the marriage of his parents was declared bigamous and therefore invalid, making their children officially illegitimate and thus barring them from inheriting the throne. On 25 June, an assembly of Lords and commoners endorsed a declaration to this effect and proclaimed Richard the rightful king. The following day, Richar...

EMMA Audiobook by Jane Austen | Full Audio book with Subtitles | Part 1 of 2
Jane Austen famously described Emma Woodhouse, the title character of her 1815 novel, as a heroine whom no-one but myself will much like. Yet generations of readers have loved Emma, as much for her blunders as for her wit and vivacity. Emma, handsome, clever, and rich, has nothing else to do but try to pair off her friends, and she consistently mis-reads the relationships and situations around her as much as she mis-reads her own heart. The novel features a wonderful cast of characters, including Emma's hypochondriac father, the odiously prideful Mrs. Elton, the mysterious and reserved Jane Fairfax, and Miss Bates, who never stops talking. (Summary by Elizabeth Klett).

Islamic Education - My Other School is a Madrasah-Green Lane Mosque-Part 1
A look at the teaching and learning in two Madrasahs in Birmingham; the Zawiya Madrasah, located in an Islamic centre, and Madrasah Salafiyah, based in a more traditional mosque setting.
All over the UK, 200,000 Muslim students attend a Madrasah after school each day where they learn and discuss the practices of their religion.
On average the children spend two hours at Madrasah focusing on learning to read and write Arabic, and Islamic studies.
Madrasah teachers endeavour to link the curriculum to children's needs and interests. They also employ storytelling, group work and other strategies to make learning at the end of a long day at mainstream school as enjoyable as possible.
Staff, pupils and parents talk about the importance Madrasah education has for them, as well as its relevance in the 21st century
