DF8B power in happy valley... (HD)
I was only just in time to record this Eastbound mixed freight, otherwise I could have searched a better photo position... This isn't bad either... :-) (Near Hadashan, Jingpeng, Inner Mongolia, China, 15/03/2012)

DF8B+DF4DH near Shangdian... (HD)
This heavy coal train of 5000 tons is exceptionally worked by a DF8B+DF4DH combination. Normally, they are pulled by a double DF8B. (DF4DH: 2940 kW / 480 kN, DF8B: 3680 kW / 480 kN) Unfortunately, the sound was originally ruined by using a low quality replacement cable I had bought in Huhehaote after my Rode cable failed... Normally, that shouldn't have been a big problem, but the left and right channels appeared to have been mixed up! :-( I now use a new video editing software though, and so I managed to swap the audio channels again, saving the video... :-) (Shangdian, Inner Mongolia, China, September 29, 2010)
Ziyang DF8B with empty ballast train... (HD)
This DF8B pulls an empty ballast train to the West. The JiTong line is being upgraded to double track, and the ballast needed for that is delivered by train... :-) Sadly this modernization means the loss of the most photogenic part of the line, the Jingpeng Pass, as it will be replaced by a long base tunnel... :-( In one or two years we won't be able to enjoy the growl of these diesels in these mountains any more... (Reshui, 02/10/2011)
In the last light of the day... (HD)
Just before darkness, this DF8B appeared with an empty Westbound coal train, so I decided to film it... :-) It turned out to be a rather nice video, given the poor light... :-) (Between Sandi and Liudigou, on the JiTong line, Inner Mongolia, China, 02/10/2011)
Diesel thrash in brickworks valley... (HD)
A heavy Eastbound coal train pulled by two DF8B's is seen here on the way from Hadashan station to tunnel 2 on the JiTong line. It will soon go through a 180° curve, before passing through tunnels 2, 3 and 4... This part of the line is a real bottleneck, as there is no possibility to cross trains between Hadashan and Shangdian... (Erdi, Inner Mongolia, China, 04/10/2011)

Noisy beasts in Inner Mongolia... ;-) (HD)
A Qishuyan built DF8B pilotes a Ziyang built DF8B from Jingpeng to Shangdian on the Jitong line in Inner Mongolia. Obviously, the DF8B's are not the only noisy beasts in the valley, the big grasshoppers are chirping rather enthusiastically too... ;-) (Near Erdi, Inner Mongolia, China, 05/07/2009)

Hanging bridge - Siang river in Arunachal Pradesh becomes Brahmaputra lower down
Fish traps made from bamboo and nets set up to trap fish overnight in a tributary stream that flows into the Siang, known as the Brahmaputra river lower down, near Pongging or Pangin village in East Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh. The deep gorge of the Brahmaputra empties out the river's waters into the wide plains below, near Pasighat.

Mixed freight on the Binzhou line! (HD)
Most freight trains on the Binzhou line are coal trains, but sometimes we can see mixed freight trains too, such as here... :-) (Near Xinganling, Hulunbeier, Inner Mongolia, China, 22/03/2012)
