Glassdrumman Lodge
The Glassdrumman Lodge is a special place nestled in the foothills of the majestic Mourne Mountains where you can escape to the perfect retreat, and hide away from the demands of everyday life.
We are a small hotel with only ten bedrooms featuring wonderful mountain and sea views, open fires and a fantastic restaurant, Glassdrumman Lodge is the perfect home from home and the ideal base to explore the spectacular scenery of the Down coast, in the north of Ireland.
There is plenty to do from world famous Royal County Down Golf courses located in Newcastle just ten minutes away, walking, picnicking or hiking in the beautiful Mourne Mountains, visiting the local National Trust homes, gardens and nearby castles or simply taking refuge by the fire with a good book from our library and a pint of Guinness or Bushmills whiskey.

Elaine and Eoin's Wedding Day Highlights
On a crisp November's day we headed off to the Cooley Mountains in County Louth for the wedding of Elaine and Eoin in St. Anne's church, Riverstown. A beautifully picturesque place for a wedding and for the photoshoots in the mountains and at the harbour in Carlingford.
#FutureBelfast. Developing a plan for a thriving Belfast city centre.
We launched the Belfast: Future City initiative in 2013 as a mechanism to facilitate citywide discussions around strategic priorities for Belfast’s development. We held a successful Future City conference at the Belfast Waterfront on 20 June 2014 exploring a long-term vision for our city centre, attended by over 200 city leaders. Delegates heard from internationally renowned urban development consultancy Urban Strategies, which we commissioned with Deloitte Arup to work with city leaders to develop a city centre and regeneration plan.
Watch this short film with Joe Berridge from Urban Strategies and Suzanne Wylie, Chief Executive Belfast City Council, to hear about the initial findings and recommendations emerging as part of the City centre regeneration and investment plan, including a range of priority places, projects and objectives for the city centre. You can watch a video of Joe Berridge’s full presentation at belfastcity.gov.uk/futurecity
Urban Strategies is working very closely with Belfast’s key institutions to gather their views and identify their priorities in order to produce a deliverable city centre regeneration and investment plan which is properly informed and has broad support. We’re currently consulting on Urban Strategies’ Belfast City Centre directions paper and the final city centre regeneration and investment plan will be launched in autumn 2014.
Go to for further information. If you’d like to send us your views on the plan, please email these to development@belfastcity.gov.uk before 5pm on 15 August 2014.

Belfast 2008
October 2008 my Papa brought me to Belfast, Northern Ireland.
It was a life changing trip that I'm elated to have shared with my Grandfather and my family so far away from Canada.
We laid to rest my Great Uncle David at Kilhorne Church in Analong - which lies at the foot of the Mourne Mountains.
This is a slideshow of a few pictures I took while I was there. They don't do the place justice - nor does my first attempt at a video slideshow.
I can't wait to go back :)
