Harewood Estate Riesling 2015
Riesling, the 'King' of white wine!
Riesling has the ability out age many red wines, the citrus flavours entwined with floral aromatics, add in the exquisite clean crisp finish makes Riesling an excellent choice to pair with food and wine.
Harewood Estate, make several Riesling's and I can assure you they are good at what they do! These two are a great example of Australia Riesling!

Interview with Ian Eather 1st May 2008
Interview with Mr Ian Eather (and son Garth) conducted on the 1 May 2008 by Mr Gionni Di Gravio, University Archivist.
Mr Eather discusses his life growing up at Bulga with his uncle A.N Eather, author of the History of Bulga manuscript held in the University of Newcastle (Australia).
He also discusses the history of the Eather Family, his uncle's academic interests, education and the Aboriginal people and traditions of the surrounding districts. The Bulga property was held in the family until 1995 when it was sold to John Peschar.
Ian's father was Reginald Victor Eather, the eldest of 10 children. His uncle, A.N. (Alexander Nicholas) Eather, was the fourth child of 10. Garth Eather (who is also heard in the interview) is Ian's son, and runs the Meerea Park Winery.
Ian was born on his family's property [Henriendi] (corruption of Aboriginal word ['Enginendi'] in north western NSW, near Bogabri in 1921 and later raised by his Uncle A.N. Eather at Meerea, Bulga when his mother died when he was aged 3. He left his father and four siblings, and, as the youngest went to live with his uncle and his wife who didn't have any children.
In Ian's words, A.N Eather was a self taught academic, (polymath) and an extraordinary man who associated with other academics such as Percy Haslam. He also had a collection of Aboriginal artefacts, and knowledge of their uses, which are now deposited with the Singleton Historical Society. At night A. N Eather would read to him, Shakespeare and poetry, 'he loved poetry' often reciting it from memory. He was very interested in religion, studying 'every known religion'. He had contacts with the Australian Museum in Sydney.

The Wine Society - Willow Bridge Estate Gravel Pit Shiraz 2011
Chocolate, dark berries, perfume, slippery and toffeed but with firm textural tannin, slinky and long. Have to admit it's a pretty good wine within its style. 92 points, Gary Walsh, winefront.com.au

Marie Collier Nile Scene Aida
Marie Collier (16 April 1927 -- 8 December 1971) was an Australian operatic soprano.
Marie Collier was born in Ballarat, Victoria. She first came to prominence in 1952 singing the role of Santuzza in Cavalleria Rusticana for the National Theatre Opera company in Melbourne. However she became a household name in Australia in 1953-4 performing Magda Sorel in The Consul, for a total of seventy-five performances in Melbourne, Sydney and regional areas.
Collier studied in Milan in 1955, where she was auditioned by Lord Harewood. Subsequently she was offered a contract as a regular member of the Covent Garden Opera Company. She made her Royal Opera House, Covent Garden debut as the First Lady in The Magic Flute in 1956. She created the role of Hecuba in Michael Tippett's King Priam which premiered in Coventry in May 1962; and sang the leading roles in the Western premieres of The Makropulos Case and Katerina Ismailova for Sadler's Wells.
Other roles at Covent Garden in subsequent seasons included Musetta in La Boheme; Giulietta in The Tales of Hoffmann; Liu in Turandot; Flora in La Traviata; Butterfly in Madame Butterfly; and the title role in the 1963 production of Tosca.
She is probably best known as being the substitute Tosca in Covent Garden's famous 1965 revival of the 1964 Franco Zeffirelli production of the opera. When Maria Callas cancelled her appearances in three out of the four scheduled performances, Collier stepped in, to great acclaim.
She died in London at the age of 44 in an accident in which she fell to her death from an open window.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

SUMMARY
=======
Christchurch (; Māori: Ōtautahi) is the largest city in the South Island of New Zealand and the seat of the Canterbury Region. The Christchurch urban area lies on the South Island's east coast, just north of Banks Peninsula. It is home to 404,500 residents, making it New Zealand's third-most populous city behind Auckland and Wellington. The Avon River flows through the centre of the city, with an urban park located along its banks.
Archaeological evidence has indicated that people first settled in the Christchurch area in about 1250. Christchurch became a city by Royal Charter on 31 July 1856, making it officially the oldest established city in New Zealand. The Canterbury Association, which settled the Canterbury Plains, named the city after Christ Church, Oxford. The new settlement was laid out in a grid pattern centred on Cathedral Square; during the 19th century there were few barriers to the rapid growth of the urban area, except for the Pacific to the east and the Port Hills to the south.
Agriculture is the historic mainstay of Christchurch's economy. The early presence of the University of Canterbury and the heritage of the city's academic institutions in association with local businesses has fostered a number of technology-based industries. Christchurch is one of five 'gateway cities' for Antarctic exploration, hosting Antarctic support bases for several nations. The city suffered a series of earthquakes between September 2010 and January 2012, with the most destructive of them occurring at 12.51 p.m. on Tuesday, 22 February 2011, in which 185 people were killed and thousands of buildings across the city collapsed or suffered severe damage. By late 2013, 1,500 buildings in the city had been demolished, leading to an ongoing recovery and rebuilding project.
