Harlech Castle CADW
Harlech’s battlements spring out of a near-vertical cliff-face.
'Men of Harlech.' The nation’s unofficial anthem, loved by rugby fans and regimental bands alike, is said to describe the siege which took place here during the War of the Roses, wherein a handful of men held out against a besieging army of thousands. Edward’s tried and tested ‘walls within walls’ model was put together in super-fast time between 1283 and 1295 by an army of nearly a thousand skilled craftsmen and labourers.
Edward liked to use only the best masons from Savoy and England’s finest carpenters and blacksmiths. At the time this was one of the cheapest of Edward’s castles. A snip at a mere £8,190.
The structure, overseen by Master of the King’s Works, James of St George, boasts two rings of walls and towers, with an immensely strong east gatehouse. It was impregnable from almost every angle. Its secret weapon was a 200-foot (61m) long stairway which still leads from the castle to the cliff base.
Access via the stairway to the sea and crucial supplies kept the castle’s besieged inhabitants fed and watered. When it was first built, a channel would have connected the castle and the sea. You could have sailed a boat up to the moat. Seven hundred years later, the sea has receded and you could say the castle appears almost stranded, waiting for the tide to turn once more.
The newly installed ‘floating’ bridge at Harlech Castle makes access to the castle truly available for all. The bridge connects the castle with the brand new visitor centre in the former Castle Hotel building. The development also includes five new luxury apartments that are let by Menai Holiday Cottages. To book your stay, please visit the Menai Holiday Cottages website.
Along with Caernarfon Castle, Conwy Castle and Beaumaris Castle, this monument has been part of the Castles and Town Walls of Edward 1 World Heritage Site since 1986.
Harlech Castle Visitor Centre, Apartments and Footbridge won the Tourism and Leisure Category at the 2017 RICS Awards.
The judges said, 'The visitor centre is an integral part of the visitor experience to the castle and it is hard to now imagine the site without it. The centre appears not only to have added to the overall visitor experience of the World Heritage Site but it has changed the nature of the town centre from one of quiet decay to one of optimism, with new business start-ups and expansion of existing businesses. The centre also now appears to act as a central anchor for local businesses. Future plans for the castle itself can only add to long term success.’

HB Leisure caught cheating families out of winning redemption tickets and prizes
This video clearly shows how HB Leisure like to operate. Their head office is based in Rhyl, North Wales u.k. and the arcade in question is in Colwyn Bay. Do not play at any HB leisure outlet or the fairground/theme parks which they operate at, Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Thomas World etc.
They tampered with their Tower Of Tickets machine because i was winning too many tickets. I wonder how many other machines they have messed with. Innocent families being robbed of the chance at winning a redemption prize. shame on you HB leisure. lets make this go viral people.
They mocked me and were abusive when i questioned them and asked to see under the 1000 ticket puck. Obviously they refused stating they had a business to run etc. Basically they put Gaffa Tape underneath it to stop it moving freely across the mirror.
Anyone who knows how this game works will understand whats going on here. Cheating families and tampering with machines to prevent wins.

Percy Shelley's Men Of England
A folk song version of early 19th-century poem by Percy Shelley.
(lyrics)
Men of England, wherefore plough
For the lords who lay ye low?
Wherefore weave with toil and care
The rich robes your tyrants wear?
Wherefore feed, and clothe, and save,
From the cradle to the grave,
Those ungrateful drones who would
Drain your sweat--nay, drink your blood?
Wherefore, Bees of England, forge
Many a weapon, chain, and scourge,
That these stingless drones may spoil
The forced produce of your toil?
Have ye leisure, comfort, calm,
Shelter, food, love's gentle balm?
Or what is it ye buy so dear
With your pain and with your fear?
The seed ye sow, another reaps;
The wealth ye find, another keeps;
The robes ye weave, another wears;
The arms ye forge, another bears.
Sow seed,--but let no tyrant reap;
Find wealth,--let no imposter heap;
Weave robes,--let not the idle wear;
Forge arms,--in your defence to bear.
Shrink to your cellars, holes, and cells;
In halls ye deck another dwells.
Why shake the chains ye wrought? Ye see
The steel ye tempered glance on ye.
With plough and spade, and hoe and loom,
Trace your grave, and build your tomb,
And weave your winding-sheet, till fair
England be your sepulchre.

Steepest St In World... I Don't Take The Caravan! Snowdonia, Wales
My next video I'm staying in Snowdonia National Park in Wales and the first sightseeing I do is go to a castle in Harlech! Can you tell I like my castles? And then by chance, I realise this is the town that took away Dunedin's (NZ) 'steepest street' title????
Needing to do a supermarket shop, I headed to Porthmadog and get sidetracked by the cute port. Then it's a day of caravan chores with clothes washing, gas bottle swap and looking into the best navigation system to avoid future towing stress... I'm getting there.
