This is my take on the daily vlog concept.
Everyday I upload a 4 minute vlog, shot 4 minutes after the day before.
There’s no editing, no re-takes and no music over-dubs and they always finish right on the 4 minute mark, no exceptions.

Blue Mountains Part 4 - Catalina Park Raceway, Katoomba. (Australia)
Catalina Park is a disused motor racing venue, located at Katoomba, in the Blue Mountains, New South Wales, Australia.
The 2.1 km circuit opened on 12 February 1961. Race meetings were staged by the Australian Racing Drivers Club in association with the Blue Mountains Sporting Drivers Club through to 1969, at which time the ARDC took over the Amaroo Park circuit. A race meeting was organized by the BMSDC in January 1970, however the club went into liquidation the following year. At the time of the circuit's closure, the lap record was credited to Frank Matich (Matich SR4) at 53.4 seconds, an average lap speed of 141 km/h.
Originally used for top level motorsport including touring car, open wheeler, motorcycle and sidecar racing in the 1960s. The mountain location caused problems with fog causing delays in the race programs, also the track was very narrow by today's standards and surrounded by walls, armco railings and hillside. The track became used less with the opening of other circuits nearer to Sydney such as Oran Park and Amaroo Park.
In the 1970s the circuit was used for Rallycross, where the cars would use half the bitumen track and a dirt infield section with jumps, like Motocross.
By the 1980s the track was only being used for lap dashes with single cars on track at one time and was used until the mid-1990s for this.
The circuit still exists and can be walked around however it has deteriorated quite badly with grass growing through the track surface on what was Lockheed Straight and Dunlop Corner, and water seepage has caused part of the track to collapse between Craven A corner and Castrol corner.

Katoomba Brickworks Site.
A small group of Glenbrook & District Historical Society Inc members like to visit old industrial, mining and railway sites to check what remains are left to tell the story. This visit is to the Katoomba Brickworks site where bricks were made from 1938 to the early 1950's. Little is left of the works and kilns.

Aussie CC Rally 2014: Katoomba
Best viewed in 1080p
The video depicts the most recent and possibly most fun ride I have ever been on. Due to a cold that was developing, I have cut the original audio as I was sniffing way too much.
This was as much footage as I could capture of the Australian Cruiser Customising rally for 2014, which took place in Katoomba NSW.
This leg of the rally depicts the run out to the Lithgow Small Arms Musuem, which showcases a vast private owned collection of small arms and munitions.
From there the tribe headed to Portland, to see the ride leaders' home town. From Portland we headed to a pub in a town called Tarana for lunch, where we met up with the other half of the tribe that went on a trip to Jenolan Caves. From the pub we made our return trip to Katoomba.
All in all, the day was a blast, and I look forward to the next time I have the opportunity to catch up with this amazing group of people.
The music in the video is composed and performed by Persson, and is used under the creative commons act.
Rectoplasm live @ The Gearin Hotel, Katoomba 2 Dec 2013
OK, troops - here it is! Authentic footage of us playing to the proverbial eight people and a dog at a local open mike night. I think they got a bit more than they were bargaining for...although apparently they /have/ invited us back...

La Cinquantaine - Gabriel Marie. Cello Georg Mertens - piano Gavin Tipping
Recorded in the 1870's Gulgong 'Prince of Wales' Opera House (NSW Australia) on 6th Dec 2008, launch of the CD Cello Favourites.
The Gulgong Opera House is a beautiful olden times venue in a tiny little town equipped with a Steinway Grand piano.
Unfortunately the CD is sold out.
For digital downloads see:
This popular student piece, edited for many instruments including trombone, flute and voice, is originally written for cello & piano, dedicated to the 50th birthday (Cinquantaine) of Monsieur E. Binon, violoncellist of the opera (Paris?).
I refused to do this piece with my students for years. After being begged by a student to teach it, I redid all the bowings - especially putting the harmonic A's on a down bow - composers write harmonics to give lightness to the sound, but just this note on an up bow gets totally squashed in the typical pressure towards of most students.

The 39th Cork Folk Festival 3rd Oct -7th October, is an annual music event that takes place in Ireland’s southern capitol, Cork. The 39 year old festival is emerging as one of the most important folk & traditional music events in Ireland and has a growing reputation in Europe. Performances take place in concert halls, music venues, in 30 bars and on the Streets. It features concerts with international, cutting edge and established artists plus lectures, workshops, children’s events, and traditional set dancing. The event has a strong focus on local Cork City, Sliabh Luachra and Irish Traditional and folk musicians and singers, so prepare for plenty of polkas, slides and harrier ballads.
Since its birth in 1979, Cork Folk Festival has earned a reputation for bringing together some of the biggest names on the traditional and folk scene – as well as championing some of its up-and-coming stars. Set in Cork city, is has a unique atmosphere, taking in 14 of the city’s famous venues, but the festival feels intimate, despite its diversity in venues. The festival is well catered and all at minimal cost., and is an old school festival for audiences who appreciate world class acoustic music. The packed international line up features musicians from all over Europe and Ireland. Headlining this year festival Kate Rusby. The five day festival will also include a performance by Dave Flynn’s 20 piece Irish Memory Orchestra with special guest accordion player Máirtín O’Connor. Another concert at this year’s 5 day festival will be three of Ireland’s most famous musicians, Paddy Keenan, Frankie Gavin and Dermot Byrne. This year the festival has commissioned west Cork harpist, Máire Ní Chathasaigh to write a piece of new music to commemorate the founding of the folk festival in 1979. The new music will be performed by Nollaig Casey, her sister Mairéad and a host of Cork Musicians at St Finn Barre’s Cathedral. For the first during the folk festival we will feature Fada music from Portugal, travelling from Lisbon to sing in Cork will be Claudia Aurora and her band. The festival line up includes Cork’s own John Spillane , Jimmy Crowley & Pete Coe, Seamus Begley, Ye Vagabonds, , Desi Wilkinson & Patrick Moulard from Brittany Máire Ní Cheileachair, Two Time Polka, Striolán Céilí Band, Blind Poets, Rowan Piggott, Cork Singers Club and Cork Pipers Club etc...
