The gorgeous and remote Myeik (or Mergui) Archipelago lies in the Andaman Sea off the coast of southern Myanmar. To visit these extraordinary islands you will need to join a guided tour, e.g. with the tour operator Life Seeing Tours.
Made up of more than 800 islands which vary in size from smaller ones with just a few palm trees to larger islands of several hundred square kilometres, the archipelago offers great opportunities for exploration and diving amongst spectacular marine life.

It is not just the scenery (under water or over water) that makes the Myeik Archipelago such a fascinating place to visit: the Moken people, also known as the Salone or sea gypsies, are one of the most distinct of Myanmar’s many ethnic groups, living a nomadic, sea-based life here. They have adapted themselves to the water over many hundreds of years.

The amazing tropical Marcus Island (or Harris Island) with a 400 ft long beach can be reached in a 2 hrs boat trip from Myeik.

I Stepped on a Sea Urchin - Most Painful Feeling

This was a tough one to put up! Nate stepped on a sea urchin while we were on surfing. He said that it is the most painful feeling he has ever had and he would not wish it on his worst enemy. Not going to lie his foot looked pretty messed up after stepping on the sea urchin. Part of The Journey though is showing the good and bad parts of travel. Sometimes things don't always go how you want them to so we didn't want to leave this out. After Nate stepped on the sea urchin he was injured for probably two weeks and it took him always a half a week to start walking again. He is all good now but has a few needles still in his foot to this day! Make sure to give us a big like for Nate and his pain and make sure you subscribe to the channel!
