Harshnath temple is an ancient Hindu temple located in the Sikar district of Rajasthan. The temple is 14 km away from Sikar. This Shiv temple, according to an inscription dated 973 AD, was built by the Shiv ascetic Bhavarakta, during the reign of Chahamana king Vigraharaja. The temple campus houses various shrines which are almost damaged. This temple is surrounded on the Aravalli Hills. There are many shrines in Harshnath temple.

One can reach Sikar from Delhi in 5-6 Hours as Sikar is about 280 kms from Delhi, so it can be a weekend escape into peace for people living a hectic life in DelhiThis Shiv temple, according to an inscription dated 973 CE, was built by the Shiv bhakt Bhavarakta, during the period of Chahamana king Vigraharaja.

सीकर से 16 किमी दूर दक्षिण में हर्ष पर्वत स्थित है | हर्ष पर्वत की ऊंचाई समुद्र तल से लगभग 3100 फीट है | 973 ई. के एक अभिलेख के अनुसार इस मंदिर का निर्माण चौहान शासक विग्रहराज प्रथम के शासनकाल में एक शैव संत द्वारा करवाया गया था। मन्दिर में एक गर्भगृह, अंतराल, कक्षासन युक्त रंग मंडप एवं अर्द्धमंडप के साथ एक अलग नदी मंडप भी है।इस पर्वत का नाम हर्ष एक पौराणिक घटना के कारण पड़ा। उल्लेखनीय है कि दुर्दान्त राक्षसों ने स्वर्ग से इन्द्र व अन्य देवताओं का बाहर निकाल दिया था। भगवान शिव ने इस पर्वत पर इन राक्षसों का संहार किया था। इससे देवताओं में अपार हर्ष हुआ और उन्होंने शंकर की आराधना व स्तुति की। इस प्रकार इस पहाड़ को हर्ष पर्वत एवं भगवान शंकर को हर्षनाथ कहा जाने लगा। एक पौराणिक दन्त कथा के अनुसार हर्ष को जीणमाता का भाई माना गया है।
