Hartz Peak Walk
Fast becoming one of south-east Tasmania's more popular walks, Hartz Peak is a fairly easy walk, especially for Tasmanian standards. It's not too steep, has plenty of boardwalk, and is around 4 hours return for the average walker. The views are spectacular, but I only had fleeting glimpses on the summit on this trip. I had hopes of reaching Mt Snowy, but the low cloud and strong winds made me leave it for another time.

The Hartz Mountains are mountains with twin peaks located in southern Tasmania, Australia. The Hartz Peak track takes you to the very top of the tallest peak.

There was a fair bit of low lying cloud and wasn't sure if it would bucket down.
Was extremely beautiful though the views were a bit limited and only a few spots of moisture.

While visiting our friends in Franklin, Tasmania we took the opportunity to hike to Hartz peak with them. It was absolutely worth it as we had great weather and magnificent 360 degree views!

We were cought out - nearly reach the top but a blizzard stopped us. It was mazing the nmber of times the weather changed.

Hartz peak 2017 - Tasmania
This video was taken in 2017.
Another magnificent track. Tasmania is never full of raw natural beauty. 8km return, it's not that difficult to do.
We didn't make it all the way to the peak due to the crazy wind. I think it's safe to call it a gale.

Lake Esperance, Hartz Mountains ( Great Short Walk # 11 )
The Lake Esperance walk is a short walk up in the Hartz Mountains, in southern Tasmania.
It's an easy day walk, even on the day we did this walk, where the weather turned nasty with driving winds and rain.
