Hasanamba Temple, Hassan Night View
Hasanamba temple is a Hindu temple located in Hassan, Karnataka, dedicated to the Goddess Shakti or Amba. The temple was built in the 12th century and tourists are only allowed to visit the temple once a year during the Hindu festival Deepavali in October. Devotees visit the temple to seek blessings of the Goddess during this week.

Last day for Darshan At Hasanamba Temple Today, Thousands Of Devotees Rush To Temple
Today is the last for public darshan hundreds of devotees thronged the Hasanambe temple to seek divine intervention. Devotees were forming a beeline in front of the temple since morning. The temple doors are open for the public for a short window once a year. Former minister and JD(S) MLA HD Revanna also paid a visit to the temple. This is Revanna's 8th visit to the in 11 days.

Historic Hasanamba temple opens in Hassan
The famous and historic Hasanamba temple, which opens once in a year, in the city opened for devotees for 13 days on Thursday.
Hassan city is decorated with colourful illumination, buntings and banners, in view of the Hasanamba Jatra Mahotsava. The temple will be opened up to October 29.
The district administration has made all arrangements for the festival, which attracts lakhs of people from different parts of the state.

Sri Hasanamba Temple Overview
Sri Hasanamba Devi is a goddess of curiosity to all. She’s renowned for her unusual mysteries.
The doors of temple, which are open all days of the year to provide darshan to the devotees, are a natural arrangement. But the darshan chance of goddess Hasanamba devi or Hasanamma is an exception. Sri Hasanamba Temple door is open in the year for just a few days and remains closed on the remaining days. There’s an anthill behind it, and there’s a stone formation in front of it. Although this goddess has since been known by the name Hasanamba, it is not a goddess but a trinity. The three of the Shakthi-Swaroopinis settled together here.

The town Hasan was named after the presiding deity at the Hasanamba Temple. She is called Hasanamba as she is perceived to be ever smiling, bestowing all riches on her devotees. Built in the 12th century, the temple is open to the public for a week, once a year during the lunar month of Ashwayuja, during Diwali in October. So devotees flock here to seek the Goddess’ blessings during this week. This is the best time to visit the temple.
Hasanamba Temple – History
The temple is believed to have been constructed sometime around the 12th century, though no one knows exactly when or how it came to be. There is an ant-hill representing the presiding deity inside the temple premises and because the temple is open for only a week a year, it is all the more special to obtain a darshan during the festival.

The Goddess of Shakti, Hasanamba has chosen her abode in the heart of Hassan city. The Hasanamba temple in Hassan district of Karnataka makes for an interesting story of miracles. Do you need to believe in all of them to understand Indian culture? Perhaps not. But it sure adds to the flavours of India. Adding to the ever-lasting list of her miracles, Hasanamba gives audience to her devotees only once an year. Depending on the Hindu Calendar, the duration varies each year. The temple only opens on the following Thursday of the full moon day in the month of Ashwija (usually late Oct - early Nov). The temple closes on the day of Balipadyami when the rest of Karnataka is celebrating Deepavali.
