Hatteras NC 2015 Trip
Hatteras is an unincorporated community in Dare County, North Carolina, in the United States. The Outer Banks Island of Hatteras, North Carolina linking it to Frisco, Avon, and Ocracoke just a ferry ride away. The name Hatteras was used by the Fort Raleigh colonists in reference to Pea Island, located north of modern day Hatteras Island. The village of Hatteras retained its historical name.
The Light house is another attraction to view and clime to the top to see the land and ocean. To catch the wind as you walk around, watch the surfers, the sail kits, and more. With tourism’s continuing year after year and from generation to generation bringing wave after wave of sons and daughters to the sea. It is an elegant and quiet town of enthusiastic friends that I love, pulling me to it year after year. Do you want to know more about Hatters?

Strong Winds, Surf as Maria Brushes Outer Banks
(26 Sep 2017) Officials in North Carolina estimate more than 10,000 people have left the Outer Banks as Hurricane Maria moves closer.
Dare County Emergency Management Director Drew Pearson said Tuesday morning that it's impossible to get exact figures on how many people evacuated Hatteras Island after they were ordered to do so. But Pearson said officials think between 10,000 and 12,500 people have left the island ahead of the storm. Hatteras has a year-round population of about 500 people, who are not required to leave.
Pearson said the worst conditions were expected Wednesday into Thursday morning.

Fun in the OBX
Not much wind this year for the Triple S Open Invitational, so had alot of time waiting and exploring the OBX. Eventually having to run the event behind jet skis because we did not have enough to kite. Cant wait for next year, and better conditions!

Windsurfing, Cape Hatteras, NC, April 28, 2011
A crazy day at Cape Hatteras with winds gusting +40 mph. First time I was on a 3.6 square meter sail and broke a harness line. Like to thank Nat for video recording the opening rainy scene. Also, thanks to Theresa, Dimitry, Sergey and Ace helping with the video recording.
This IS the WEIRDEST wave EVER!?
Hurricane season brings the size in surf, but it also brings the weird. After surfing today I realized that this could possibly be the weirdest wave ever...is it!? New Jersey could be the capitol of the strange & novelty wave spots in the entire nation with what I've found over the past few years. Let the adventure continue!! THANK YOU FOR THE STOKE!!! - Ben
