We've made it to Narkanda, Shimla District in Himachal Pradesh and we're going for the famous hike up to Hatu Peak. We expected spectacular views from the top, which we got, but what we didn't expect was that we would enjoy the walk up as much as we did. It was a fairly easy 3 hour hike up the mountain, with incredible views of the snow-capped Himalayan peaks in the distance which made this hike unforgettable.

Hatu peak (Narkanda) | RoadTrip in Baleno
We started our road trip from Panchkula early morning in our new Baleno Alpha 1.2 and the final destination is Chitkul in Kinnaur (H.P.) which is called as the last village of India. But before that we just headed toward the Hatu Peak where the nature is very serene and there is a Hatu Mata Temple.
Hatu peak is located at an elevation of 3400 m/12000 ft above sea level and is the highest summit in Shimla/Narkanda region of Himachal Pradesh, India. The peak is surrounded by dense woods.
Lets explore how it goes to the Hattu Peak from Panchkula.

The Dangerous Road to Hatu Peak, Narkanda [Dash-cam]
Hatu peak is located at an elevation of 3400 m/12000 ft above sea level and is the highest summit in Shimla/Narkanda region.
The peak is uninhabited, and is accessed by a bike or car but the road is difficult to use and only one car can climb at a time. Most people prefer to trek 6 kilometres.
It's one of the most difficult stretches I've driven, and last time it was raining too which made matters worse. Drive here only if you know your stuff. :)

Hatu Peak in winters #Vlog
Hatu Peak is surrounded by dense woods. The area has forests of fir and spruce, with a smattering of maple, aspen and cedar trees.
The small hill station of Narkanda (at 2708m) is the start of the journey to the top of Hatu Peak. Narkanda is a stop on the regular bus service from Shimla to Rampur. The bus ride will cost around 60-70 rupees and take about 2.5 hours. Alternatively, private car hire is available and will cost approximately 1500 rupees for a slightly shorter trip and the flexibility of using your own time table.
According to local belief, the famous Hatu Mata temple is the temple of ‘Mandodari’ wife of ‘Ravana’. People come in great number on the first Sunday of Jyeshtha to pay ritual here. Goat sacrifice is still in practice near the temple.
There is an ancient stove like the formation of rocks nearby the temple. Locals believe that it was used by the Pandavas brothers to cook their food during their Agyaat Vaas.

This was my first ever trek and that too solo. I trekked in 2-3 feet snow for around 6 kms from Narkanda zero point to Hatu Peak, Hatu Temple. I stayed in Agyaat Vaas resort before we reached Hatu Peak.

Welcome to Hatu peak Narkanda. It is situated in Narkanda Himachal Pradesh.
Temple of Maa Hateshwari Devi at Hatu Peak (Narkanada - Himachal Pradesh) was being renovated at the time of my visit.
If you are looking for
One day up-down trip from Chandigarh then this place is a must. You can drive till Narkanda and it takes around 4.5
hours from Chandigarh. You can drive up to Hatu Peak. Hatu peak drive is thrilling and fun.
The ride to Hatu Peak was exceptionally testing and energizing then again whereas the lake was serene. We spent our nightfall minute around the lake.
You can also go for Hatu peak trek. It is a medium to easy level trek and can be easily done.
Hatu peak in summers is the best place to camp near Shimla. Narkanda gets very less snowfall, However in Winter
Hatu peak is filled with Snow. There are some other untouched places near Narkanda.
Like Tanni Jubbar lake. You can ask locals about it and they will tell you the route to Tannu Jubbar lake.
You can get cheap hotels in Narkanda. First, try to get a room in PWD rest house. If not then you can
get easily room ranging from 500-2000 in Narkanda city.
