The Israeli Air Force Museum is located on the Hatzerim Israeli Air Force Base in the Negev Desert on the west outskirts of Beersheba (Beersheba) or Be’er Sheva). The base was constructed during the early 1960s and declared operational on 3/10/1966. The Israeli Air Force Museum opened in 1977 and has allowed public access since June 1991. The IAF Flight Academy has been housed at Hatzerim since April 1966 and the IAF Aerobatic Team is also located there.

Fascinating museum next to an actual Israeli Air Force base in the desert, telling the history of the Israeli Air Force and has a multitude of aircraft on display including some captured enemy planes and a Boeing 707 that you can go inside.
At the time of visit, adult entrance fee was only 30 Shekels and there was ample car parking next to the museum. Also included in the price was an English speaking guide who worked at the base and who seemed very knowledgeable about the museum.
Facilities in the museum included a café, gift shop and toilets.
Beersheba is located further inland in Israel just around an hour or two's drive from Ashkelon or Jerusalem but there was also a bus stop outside the museum so buses seemed to go there too.

This is a film about a visit to the fabulous Israeli Air Force Museum. The Israeli Air Force Museum is located some 6kms west of Be'er Sheva in the Negev Desert adjacent to the Hatzerim Airbase and the Kibbutz Hatzerim.
The Israeli Air Force Museum is found in the open expanse of desert at the Hatzerim Air Force Base, with the warplanes and training planes occasionally flying above the museum providing all round great experience.

רס״ן מיל. עוזי שחר-שפירא שפיקד על יחידת מאמני הטיסה מספר על מאמן העיט יום לאחר הגעתו לתצוגה במוזיאון
רס״ן מיל: עוזי שחר-שפירא מספר לאוצר המוזיאון, אבי משה-סגל על מאמן מטוס העיט אשר הועבר למשמרת ולתצוגה במוזיאון חיל האוויר במרס 2018.
מאמן העיט שירת ביחידת המאמנים החל מהקמתה בשנת 1975 במשך 40 שנה.

אלוף מיל. דן טולקובסקי היה מפקד חיל האוויר כשסג״מ יעקב טרנר סיים את קורס 22 - ברכתו ב-60 שנה למסדר!
ב-11 ביולי 1957 נכח מפקד חיל האוויר, אלוף דן טולקובסקי במסדר הכנפיים של קורס 22 שנערך בתל-נוף.
את הכנפיים העניק לבוגרים סא״ל צחיק יבנה (לימים אל״מ מיל.) מפקד בית הספר לטיסה.
ב-11 ביולי 2017 בדיוק 60 שנה אחרי מברך אלוף מיל. טולקובסקי בן 96 את תא״ל מיל. יעקב טרנר וחבריו בוגרי קורס 22. חמישה מבוגרי הקורס חיים עמנו.
נוקיר את זכרם של אלו מבוגרי הקורס שנפלו ואלו מביניהם שהלכו לעולמם ונאחל שנים רבות ויפות לחמישייה שעמנו!
תודתנו מקרב לב נתונה לאלוף מיל. דן טולקובסקי!

ביום שני 5 ביוני 2017 בדיוק 50 שנה לפרוץ מלחמת ששת הימים נפגשים במוזיאון חיל האוויר בחצרים מייסד המוזיאון תא״ל מיל. יעקב טרנר ותא״ל מיל. צבי קנור, מבכירי טייסי הקרב והמפקדים בחיל.
לפני קצת יותר מחמישים שנה נפגשו השניים כשטרנר היה מפקד טייסת בבית הספר לטיסה וקנור (קנטורג׳י במקור)
היה חניך בקורס טייס מספר 52.
מפגש מיוחד בתאריך מיוחד בין מפקד ומדריך לבין פקודו וחניכו שהיה ברבות השנים בעצמו למוביל ומפקד בכיר בחיל.

Piperheavy - Visit to Israeli Airforce Museum
Hi everyone!
On my recent vacation (June 2018) I have visited Israeli Airforce Museum -
It was totally awesome! Great collection, nice staff, interesting explanatory videos etc.
Aslo, I was so lucky that I saw some bits of Israeli Aerobatics Team's practice, it was pretty far away for my camera to catch it properly, but I saw it pretty well and it was so cool!
Aslo, it rained this day in the Negev which never ever happens in the Negev in June - but you can see the wet spots all over the place, it is because the heavy rain just ended ;))) and I was lucky that I just came out of the desert before the road got too flooded :))) - but I saw the damage on the way back... it was also impressive...
