Vineyard scene a highlight of The Gallery Havelock's latest exhibition
A falcon perched on a vineyard post is one of many quintessential Marlborough scenes captured by artists for a new gallery exhibition. Eleven resident artists have contributed to Our Home of Light and Shadow, which opened at The Gallery Havelock on Friday. Joanna Upperton said she came up with the idea for her acrylic painting A Watchful Eye specifically for the exhibition, keen on the challenge of depicting an iconic Marlburian scene. It's quite a special set-up. I've dealt with many galleries in my time and I've seen community galleries before, but that one is quite special.
