The Hawaiian Railway Society, Train Rides Hawaii
This video is about Hawaiian Rail Road
- Fun trip on Railway
- Available for everybody
- 3 hour trip (total)
The Hawaiian Railway Society is an educational, non-profit organization dedicated to saving, restoring and protecting Hawaii's railroading history. We have the only historic railroad on the island of Oahu and the only operating railroad museum in the state.
Come ride with us along a historic stretch of track west of old Ewa and listen to stories about the history of railroading in Hawaii. Train rides are available year round.
A picnic area is available for passengers to use before or after their ride or they may take food and beverages on board. The picnic area is great for holding birthday parties and other special occasions and may be reserved.

Hawaiian Railway Society - An Oral History - 1976 Bicentennial
As we continue to go through and compile the footage from our interview with Bob Paoa, one of our long time members at the HRS, we'll be releasing these videos outlining the history of the organization and the OR&L. In today's video we look back at the 1976 Bicentennial Celebration of the United States of America. While the most notable event of the new year was the 4449 in Freedom Train Livery traveling across the 48 continental United States we celebrated it in our own way in the islands.

This building will house and display all the artifacts that have been donated & collected of the OR&L, HRS, and other railways that use to exist through out the islands and will be open to the public during our regular weekend schedule. We hope you consider supporting this project and make a donation!

Bicycle Ride - Oahu, Hawaii
Oahu has designated bike lanes all over the island but traffic and pot-holes make many roads rather dangerous. However, in the Ewa Beach area there are some excellent roads and bike lanes for exercise and training. This video is rather long (boring perhaps) at 15 minutes, but I offer it to those who want to see in advance what these roads look like. The total length of the ride is 15.2 miles. Recorded Saturday April 20, 2013, 8:00am - 9:00am.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.
