Hawarden Kite | Hawarden Castle, North Wales
In politics a kite is a means of testing the political weather. The most famous kite was flown by William Ewart Gladstone in December 1885. Here I show it came about and how it unfolded.

Gladstone Library - Hawarden, Flintshire, Wales Skyquad
One of Flintshire's if not North Wales best kept secrets.
What a stunning location and setting for Gladstone Library. It is no wonder they have tourists from America coming to visit this stunning location and building. We have the great privilege of flying it with our Skyquad UAV system to share with everyone.
The library itself is one of a few Grade 1 listed buildings in North Wales, and it truly stunning

Bruce (age 5) Cycles 27 Miles from Hoylake to Mickle Trafford for Frodsham Manor House
Bruce (age 5) cycled 27 miles from Hoylake to Mickle Trafford on 16th June 2018. He was raising money for his school, Frodsham Manor House, to build a new Multi Use Games Area (MUGA). So far he has raised £730, which is amazing!
Bruce cycled the route from Hoylake to Mickle Trafford with his Dad. They set off at 8.30am on Saturday morning and headed off along the Wirral Way. First stop was at West Kirby for a quick snack at Ashton Park. Then on to Cubbins Green for a few photos followed by the first crash of the day, a wobble out of the saddle and almost into some nettles.
They followed the Wirral Way, route 89, through Wirral Country Park with another snack stop under Delavor Road bridge. Onwards towards Parkgate through Heswall Golf Club and another quick snack stop in Neston.
The next section of the journey took them onto some public roads winding through Little Neston with another quick stop for a play in the playground. Following the route down past the Harp Inn along the NCR 568 to Nets Cafe for lunch.
Back onto the NCR 568 after lunch they endured a headwind for the next three or four miles. Crossing the border into Wales through Deeside Industrial Park, not the most pleasant section of the route they stopped for a snack before picking up the NCR 5 and crossing the River Dee at Hawarden Bridge. More snacks, chucking a few stones into puddles and then racing a train they headed back towards Chester on the NCR 5.
It was just by the Airfields Bruce had his second crash of the day, again a little wobble out of the saddle and his was off! after a few tears, he brushed himself down and they continued on towards Mickle Trafford. Snack number 6 and it was a sprint over Dragon Bridge onto the four mile straight into Blacon. Snack stop number 7 near Green Lane East, a tail wind assisted all the way up to Blacon and beyond through Chester and Newton.
They arrived at Meadow Lea Farm Coffee Shop at around 4.30pm where Bruce’s Mum and sister way waiting to transfer the tired cyclists back to Frodsham.
Total amount raised so far is £730!
A huge big thank you to all his sponsors, you know who you are :-)
A special thanks to Helen Lord at Used Kitchen Exchange ( ) who donated £100 !!! Amazing :-)
Lets hope the new Multi Use Sports Area is built soon.
