The highpoint proudly embraces its agricultural heritage and is one of the best examples of what can happen when a diverse group of parties come together to make something better for the benefit of all. This is day 5 of the 2011 RC Road Trip. Today was the last flying day and we will be back out on the road tomorrow.
We flew at the highest point in Iowa which is Hawkeye point. Then we did some gym flying to beat the mid day heat.

Watchable Wildlife Site - Ocheyedan Mound
This isolated hill is an imposing feature standing tall in the middle of the flat plains. It was once thought to be the site of the state's highest elevation. It was surpassed by a hog lot (now called Hawkeye Point) in the same county (Osceola) and now ranks even lower on the list due to the elevation of landfills in the area.
Follow the path to the peak of this kame and you will have a wonderful view of the surrounding area.
