-- Embarking on a journey from the Pacific Northwest of the United States, walking 6,000 miles to Washington DC the walk embodies one simple goal -- an end to gender discrimination.
During the walk there will be numerous candlelight vigils at the specific places where people have been murdered or have taken their own lives due to gender expression/identity discrimination or bias. Providing gender expression/identity, social movement and civil disobedience workshops and theatrical performances inspiring people to walk into their own light and true potential, this 9-18 month journey will help raise up more voices in the effort for full social and legislative equality.
During the journey, the Into the Light walk is asking for donations that will cover basic expenses. And, 10% of every dollar raised will go directly to the Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund, whose mission is in line with that of this walk -- to end gender discrimination.

Portland Now Has 100 Street Bike Corrals!
Portland now has the distinction of having 100 bike corrals, most in dense business districts. More than any other city in the United States. It's just great that they are so ubiquitous, they are just expected, not anything special or odd. As our transportation policies continue to evolve this will continue to be more prevalent in more cities.
Bridge Pedal 2018 - 20,000 Cyclists Cross the Bridges of Portland, Oregon
This was the 23rd annual Bridge Pedal ride to benefit a hospital in Portland, Oregon. The ride starts at 7:30 am to cross most of the bridges over the Willamette River. Some of the bridges are actually freeway overpasses for I-5 and I-405. Traffic is shut down to cars for a few hours on all the bridges and this is the only time riding on the overpasses is ever allowed. Some bridges offer music and snacks. This year I saw the legendary Unipiper and listened to the fabulous Taiko drummers. There were lots of trikes riding as well.
