Head Smashed In Buffalo Jump | Journey Alberta
I travel to Head Smashed In Buffalo Jump in South Western Alberta. While heading down to Waterton, I stopped for a few hours at Head Smashed In, checking out all the Blood native history and culture. The museum there has quite a lot of cool archaeology finds from the area, and it's even cooler to stand atop the hill where the natives ran the buffalo off the cliff.

Head Smashed in Buffalo Jump Updated
Head Smashed In Buffalo Jump
Head smashed In buffalo jump is a form of hunting that the Black-Foot used to hunt and kill the buffalo. The jump took place 18 km to the northwest of Fort MacLeod (world heritage site). The Black-Foot had led a herd of buffalo toward the cliff and the buffalo falls and dies. The Black-Foot tribe is eating well tonight. The Black-Foot had taken advantage of a special geographical location, in front of the cliff there is a gap and bison can not see the cliff and that's why this place is unique.
