It has been a while since the last video, but in this one we take a look at the native Australian animal zoo, Healesville Sanctuary, located about an hours drive east of Melbourne.

Healesville Sanctuary is about 1 hours drive from Melbourne. Its open every day of the year. On weekends and school holidays, kids entry is free!
I liked walking around and looking at all of the different Australian animal exhibits. I loved the 'Tales from Platypus Creek' and the 'Spirits of the Sky' shows. Try not to miss them when you visit.
My favorite animals were the koalas and kangaroos.

Healesville Sanctuary Zoo - Van life Australia
Healesville Sanctuary Zoo - We find our first camping spot at a free camp near to Acheron, Victoria. We see our first wild kangaroo!! Little did we know, we would see thousands on our roadtrip across Australia.
We drive in our campervan to visit the sanctuary for a day full of learning about the native animals of Australia.

Healesville Sanctuary - part 1
Healesville Sanctuary in Yarra Valley Victoria, Australia is a bushland haven for Australian wildlife. One of the 3 zoos in Victoria, Healesville is about 65 kms away from Melbourne, and is about an hour and 15 minutes by car, the Zoobus Shuttle, or via train to Lilydale and buses 685 then 686 to Healesville and then to the Sanctuary respectively.

Healesville Sanctuary is internationally renowned for its work saving endangered Australian species at the Australian Wildlife Centre. Take a visit to the centre, which treats more than 2000 sick and injured native animals every year.

Our family spent the day at Healesville sanctuary, near Melbourne, Australia, in 2012. We saw dingos, kangaroos, koalas, wombats and tasmanian devils We did not see the famed platypus.

Unfortunately and with great sadness I inform you that dear little Lewis the Koala passed away.
Healesville Sanctuary, formally known as the Sir Colin MacKenzie Sanctuary, is a zoo specialising in native Australian animals. It is located at Healesville in rural Victoria, Australia, and has a history of breeding native animals. It is one of only two places to have successfully bred a platypus, the other being Sydney's Taronga Zoo. It also assists with a breeding population of the endangered helmeted honeyeater.
The zoo is set in a natural bushland environment where paths wind through different habitat areas showcasing wallabies, wombats, dingoes, kangaroos, and over 200 native bird varieties.
Guided tours, bird shows and information areas are available to visitors.

People can walk extensively through the park and experience these amazing Australian Animals and Birds in a natural habitat.
