The main length of Love River is about 12 kilometers. It flows through six districts of Kaohsiung, Zuoying, Sanmin, Gushan, Yancheng, Qianjin and Yuya, which are about 10.5 kilometers. The locals are also known as the Kaohsiung Canal, means the life of Kaohsiung. 愛河主流全長約12公里，流經左營，三民，鼓山，鹽埕，前金，苓雅等六個行政區共約10.5公里當地人又稱為「高雄運河」，是高雄的生命之河。

Aerial views of former Love River Taiwan Railway Administration Railway Bridge and adjacent former track areas, Sanmin District, Gushan District, Kaohsiung City, Taiwan, Republic of China. [22°38'11.9N 120°17'05.8E] Note: The bridge is no longer part of the TRA railway network as the related railway line has been put underground in downtown Kaohsiung 2018. The tunnel follows the previous track alignment. The area formerly occupied by two tracks will be converted into a green belt.
