The Physician's Craft -
This exhibition introduces the visitor to the world of healing in ancient times. This exhibit explores ancient diseases, methods of rational healing, and medications produced from minerals and plants. Among the impressive artifacts are the surgical instruments of a physician from the Roman period.

מלאכת הרופא
תצוגה זו מפגישה את המבקר עם כלי העבודה של הרופא הקדום, שבימי קדם נחשב לבעל מלאכה. במוקד התצוגה הנושאים הבאים: תחלואים ודרכי ריפוי - מחלות שמהן סבלו האנשים בימי קדם; שיטות הריפוי שהיו מקובלות: החל בשיטות המוכרות מהרפואה הרציונאלית, הכוללות שימוש במכשירים רפואיים שונים והמשך בתרופות שנרקחו ממינרלים וצמחים, ושני שלדי כלבים, שהיו החיה המקודשת לאל המרפא הכנעני-פניקי רשף-מכל, שליקקו את פצעי החולים. בתצוגה כלי חרס, מתכת וזכוכית שהכילו משחות ותרופות, ומכשירים רפואיים שהיו בשימוש הרופא בתקופה הרומית. בין המוצגים המעניינים, ספר מיוחד ונדיר של דיוסקורידס, שהיה רופא בצבאו של טיטוס, אשר כבש את יהודה וירושלים בשנת 70 לספירה. בספרו 'על חומרי הרפואה', המלווה בציורים מרהיבים, שהוא למעשה אנציקלופדיה בוטנית, נזכרים בעלי-חיים, מחצבים ולמעלה מ- 600 צמחים שונים, והנחיות לאופן רקיחת התרופות מהם, תוך ציון המחלות והתחלואים להם יועילו.
