Heilig Geist (Church of the Holy Spirit) Dinslaken - Hiesfeld - duet of the two largest bells
The two largest bells of Holy Spirit Church call to Mass on a Monday Evening
Since a while, they ring the two largest for this , the largest is called ''Heilig Geist'' (Holy Spirit), while the second biggest is dedicated to St.Barbara , the miner's Patron
The full peal is rung for Sundays and Holidays
The ensemble of 4 bells was cast by Bochumer Verein in 1961, the last set of steel bells made for Dinslaken.
Holy Spirit Church was opened 1961 as Monastery Church for a Dutch Order of Brothers, until their arrival Hiesfeld had no Catholic Church (the Village Church became Protestant in the Reformation) only in Oberlohberg, they had a Catholic Chapel named Herz Jesu (Heart of Christ)
After the leaving of the last patres, the church was administrated by priests of the Diocese of Münster. Today, Holy Spirit is one of 6 churches of the Parish of Dinslaken.
