Heiwadai Park, or Peace Tower Park, was built in 1940 to celebrate the 2600th anniversary of the ascension of Emperor Jimmu, who was the first emperor of Japan, on what is believed to be the original site of his capital. Inside the park stands Heiwadainoto, or the Peace Tower, a tower constructed of stones sent from all around Asia and one of Miyazaki's most famous landmarks.
The Peace Tower was meant to be a symbol of a united world. On the front of the tower is the phrase Hakko Ichiu, which is attributed to Jimmu or Emper and means United under one roof. While it is a little ambiguous what he meant, this was often used as a rallying cry for imperialists who believed that peace would reign once Asia was united under Japanese leadership.
Heiwadai Park also has an interesting acoustic trick. If you face the Peace Tower from the center of the wide lawn at its base and make a sound, your sound will be magnified and reflected back toward you.
At the far end of the park is the Haniwa Garden, a collection of over 400 replica haniwa (burial figurines) depicting animals, warriors, dancers, houses and boats arranged along a walking path through the trees. During the Kofun Period these clay figurines were placed around burial mounds in tribute to the deceased.

By Bus
From Miyazaki Station (West Exit), board a bus for Heiwadai Park. There are 1-2 direct buses per hour .The one way journey takes about 30 minutes with a cost of 320 yen.
Alternatively, board a bus in the direction of Tachibana Dori and get off at the Depato Mae bus stop (4 minutes, 150 yen) and then transfer to a bus bound for Heiwadai Park (12 minutes, 240 yen).
Heiwadai Park can also be reached in a 15 minute walk from Miyazaki Shrine and the Prefectural Museum.

Last stop in Kyushu, we went to Miyazaki! First stop was the Hewadai Park where the peace tower and the beautiful Haniwa garden is. Haniwa are old figurines from the Kofun period (250-538 AD) that were used for funerary purposes. These are all replicas of real ones found throughout excavations. We took a bus after that to Misogi pond where Izanagi washed away his misogi (bad energy) from Hell after trying to save his wife, Izanami, from death. The two are the creation gods who birthed Japan and the Sun Goddess.
Afterwards we took a train to Aoshima and stayed there. In the morning we took a bus to Udo Jingu, the most beautiful shrine in all of Japan on a cliff in the far south of Kyushu. Here a typhoon hit and we got stranded. We had to hitchhike back to Aoshima with my limited Japanese skills on our side! Afterwards we braved the typhoon and checked out the beautiful shrine on the small island attached to the beach where couples will come to pray for a beautiful and fantastic love.

Taman Heiwadai, atau Taman menara Kedamaian dibangun pada tahun 1940 untuk merayakan perayaan kke 2600 dari kekaisaran Jimmu . yang merupakan kaisar pertama di Jepang. Yang di yakini sebagai tempat asalnya. Di dalam taman terdapat stand Heidawadainoto, atau menara kedamaian, sebuah menara yang dibangun dari batu yang dikirim dari seluruh penjuru Asia dan salah satu Landmark terkenal di Miyazaki.
Menara Kedamaian dimaksudkan sebagai lambang persatuan dunia. Di Depan sebuah menara yang disebut “Hakko Ichiu” yang merupakan atribut untuk Jimmu dan Kaisar yang berarti “ Bersatu dalam atap yang sama”. dimana hal ini sedikit ambigu untuk apa yang dimaksudkannya, ini sering dijadikan sebagai perkumpulan menangis untuk para imperialist yang percaya dengan kedamaian akan menguasai asia dan bersatu dibawah kekuasaan Jepang.Taman Heiwadai juga memiliki akustik menarik. Jika anda berhadapan dengan menara kedamaiandari tengah lapang luas dan membuat suara, suara anda akan terdengar menggema. Jauh di bagian Akhir Taman ada sebuah Taman Haniwa, koleksi dari lebih dari 400 replika Haniwa( makam Figurin) yang membentuk hewan, pejuang, penari, rumah, perahu yang disusun sepanjang jalan setapak diantara pepohonan. Selama periode Kofun, figurin ini ditempatkan di bukit pemakaman di tujuakan untuk penghargaan pada yang telah meninggal.

Menggunakan Bus
Dari Stasiun Miyazaki(pintu barat) menaiki bus ke taman Heiwadai. Ada 1-22 bus langsung perjamnya. Untuk perjalanan satu arah menghabiskan waktu 30 menit dengan biaya JYP320.
Untuk Alternative, mengambil bus jalur Tachibana Dori turun di Halte Bus Depato mae(4 menit, JYP150) dan pindah bus untuk ke arah taman Heiwadai (12menit, JYP240). Tman Hewadai dapat di capai dalam waktu 15 menit jalan kaki dari Kuil Miyazaki dan Museum Perfektur Miyazaki. *

[Japan] Miyazaki - unago, nabe, Saitobaru garden & countryside
First, we went to see Saitobaru, ancient burial mounds with Ikumi's aunt and started by having some unagi (eel) which was delicious! :) Then we had some nabe at Ikumi's friend's place, Aoi chan, and with Erika chan.
The day after we visited Heiwadai park, which is full of replicas of ancient statues that used to cover burial mounds, had udon before going to the countryside at Ikumi's grandparents... :) For dinner we went to a barbecue restaurant and it was amazing, I ate so much. :3
For my last night at their house, Ikumi's family made tempura and it was sooo good. :)
