Katherine Gorge, Australia! I was in a helicopter for the first time in Australia and truly enjoyed the experience.

Mitchell Falls Helicopter Flights with HeliSpirit

The Mitchell Falls are situated at the far north of Western Australia in a very remote and spectacular wilderness area. The waterfalls fall off the Mitchell Plateau in a series of 4 waterfalls. Downstream is the lower Mitchell Falls and there are others close by. The Kimberley coast is only several minutes flight time away, with breathtaking scenery viewed on scenic flights in our helicopters.

The mighty Ord River, in flood after some heavy rain last week, but controlled by the diversion dam which allows for widespread irrigation in the Valley during the winter dry season. The dam wall also provides a safe, year-round crossing in and out of the town of Kununurra on the Victoria Highway, by-passing the old, largely unused Ivanhoe Crossing further downstream, which at this point is about 4-6 meters underwater. Parts of the Bandicoot Bar, on which the dam is firmly anchored, is usually visible and above water in the foreground below the dam gates, but in times of high flow disappears underwater for a few days.

Flight Over The Bungle Bungles with Aviair

We took a flight from Kununurra to the bungles and back. On the way we saw the ord river, lake argyle, station country, argyle diamond mine and the bungle bungles. We flew with Aviair from kununurra, they were awesome the pilot really new his stuff about everything.
